I made a reservation for 2 rooms for 3 nights, but the hotel only prepared 1 room for 3 nights! Communicating in English is quite difficult. If you book online please double check that your room is reserved for you. The hotel is quite relaxing for tourists compared to other hotels in Japan. All the staff are lovely and kind. It is located near several convenience stores and a liquor store. The hotel's shared bathroom was spotless and quiet. Overall, it is a hotel suitable for traveling with family.

The building is old, but there is a large public bath so you can relax. There are convenience stores around the hotel so it is very convenient. The subway is also nearby so I thought it was very useful.

If you want an old old style, real Japanese experience with a lovely tatanmi room with easy access to central Kyoto, then it's great. We loved it. Very little English spoken (not a problem for us), and could be difficult to find if you don't arrive by taxi, but we really enjoyed our stay.

Loved the overall look of the property, with the tatami mats in the rooms, the tea set tables, and the paper sliding windows. The location is very accessible to places like Nijo castle, and Nishiki Market. Would love to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

Located close to the subway and Nijo Castle. Also plenty of places to eat as well as a grocery store.

The location is good, 5 minutes from the metro. Excellent for walking to the Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle. Old hotel, but well maintained, comfortable, more intimate than chain hotels. There is a public bath, laundry, which makes everything more practical and pleasant. No breakfast. Reception is on the 1st floor, with no elevator access. It can be a problem for those who have a lot of bags. We were able to leave our bags before and after check-in without any problems. Attentive team.

It was good overall. It was a bit disappointing that there were only two electrical outlets. Other than the inconveniences when charging cell phones, Wi-Fi, etc., it was good overall.

Although the facilities are a little old, they were clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, about 350 meters from the subway station and close to Nijo Castle. Everyone at the front desk was very kind. There was a large public bath, so I was able to relax after my trip. I would like to use their services again when I visit Kyoto.

It is located on the north corner of the street as you walk west from Karasuma Oike Street. The reception is on the second floor. When I first stayed there, there was no elevator so I had to walk up the stairs. In fact, you can use the elevator by using the night passage on the first floor. The staff at check-in seemed unfriendly, but the two staff members who replaced me were very kind and courteous. There is no electric kettle in the room, but you can rent one at the front desk. No drink service in the room. There is no problem with the room itself, but the lighting is dark. The large public bath on the first floor was empty and comfortable. I used it twice, once in the evening and once in the morning. There are no scales or hair conditioners. Overall, I had the impression that the service was minimal. However, considering the accommodation fee and location, it's not bad at all.

It's perfect for staying overnight without meals, but it's difficult to relax. All electrical appliances are old.

The building is old but the facilities are average. I'm satisfied considering the price.
