Urban Hotel Kyoto Gojo Premium Reviews

Excellent room comfort , nice onsen with hot tub public bath , check in after 3 pm as average in Japan . The laundry machines are limited to 4 and it takes 2 hours to wash and dry and you can check the laundry availability in the tv of your room. Staff are kind and polite and location is a bit far from attractions if you go on foot. Several bike rental shops nearby but I haven’t tried to cycle in Kyoto due the extreme heat in august . There is a supermarket nearby to buy sushi and sashimi and enjoy with a Sapporo beer.

We stayed here 4 nights and loved it even though the rooms were small. There was unlimited water - cold and hot as well as coffee. Location wise, we were able to travel everywhere we wanted to go by bus and trains or walking. The public bath was small but excellent. The staff was very good - accomodated rrquests for help or cleaning routine or to open safe etc.. I managed to arrange for luggage transfer to my place of stay easily. Appreciated we were able to use the washing machine and dryer for clothes

The hotel was located near the station which only about 5mins walk. Staff are well trained with profession knowledge, rooms are clean and the public spa was also convenient for travelers

Hotel is quiet and friendly staffs. Room is considered big in Japan, reasonable price in Kyoto area, very clean and new. Location a bit further away from JR but near shopping street, within walking distance.

The location is fine that approx 15min travel time to Kyoto station. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. Highly recommanded

Overall the staff were polite but not hospitable except for one male front desk attendant who was really helpful with booking restaurant for us and spoke good English. I know it’s a norm that Japanese expect tourists to understand basic Japanese but this is hardly possible for most tourists. We were told no room service but they would change our towels and clear the bins. That did not happen. Every day a bag of new towels was placed outside our bedroom. We were told if we prefer, they could provide room service but that did not happen even though I specially requested for room cleaning service. We bought fresh fruits for my father who was sick and staying in a room on his own. The staff refused to lend us a fruit knife and told us the hotel kitchen would not slice fruits for us. That was their way of saying either buy your own knife or throw the fruits away. The rooms were extremely small. Not possible to open two luggages at the same time. We had to upgrade to bigger rooms but they were still small. The hotel cafe was constantly full-house for dinner even though we could see there were empty tables. It didn’t make sense to us. We had lunch there once and didn’t like the food. The variety of food was limited. Not a recommended stay if you have elderly people with you. Quite a walk from the metro.

The two Japanese male waiters at the front desk were very cold. The breakfast seemed to be 2,200 yen, so it was not worth recommending. I went to a breakfast shop 800 meters away and it was good (Picture 2). It’s too hot in Kyoto. I won’t come here again.

It was good. I went there early and my luggage was stored there. I didn't use breakfast. There is a ramen shop next to it that opens at 11 o'clock. The room is more than 300 yuan for 20 square meters, which is OK. The main point is the cost performance

It's pretty good for this price. There's a big bath on the top floor. Although the place is small, it's very clean. Check-out is also at 11 o'clock, which is an hour later than many people who check out at 10 o'clock. There's a ramen restaurant 50 meters away, and a supermarket is right across the street. It's very convenient overall, and the price is cheap.
