Kyoto Ryokan Hirashin Reviews

We’ve had the best stay at Ryokan Hirashin! The room was very clean, the size amazingly big, futons very comfortable, there was a big pot that always holds hot temperature. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Onsen was amazing, too. The location is just perfect! It’s 2 stops from Kyoto station and so close to Nishiki market and then also Gion district, plus very convenient if you’re a nighttime lover cuz you can just walk back home. It takes kinda same time to go to other further places like Fushimi Inari or Arashiyama, as it’s located kinda in the middle of them all. I’d say the pictures don’t really give you the vibe, it feels much better when you’re in there. To sum up, it’s a traditional looking ryokan room but in the hotel building, which in convenient cuz you don’t need to be too quiet as in more traditional ones. I highly highly highly recommend this place, we’ve really had the best time here!

Great place, clean, cozy, comfortable and quiet!! We had a beautiful view on a local park. The hotel is very close to Nishimi food market!! We enjoyed the old style!!

Great spot

Our first time in Kyoto and decided to stay at a Ryokan! This place was clean, staff was friendly and was at a very convenient location. Loved it would stay again!

I love it! The facilities are indeed old but very clean! You can take a bath in the room or go down to the big bath. When my baby and I went to the big bath, there was no one there, so we enjoyed the private bath treatment hahaha. There is a small park in front of the hotel. Sometimes you can see office workers sitting under the flower stand with a can of beer. But there is no view outside our window. There are a lot of food nearby, and there is a big 711 in three minutes. Continue walking from 711, there is a big bus station, and there are basically buses going everywhere. I will stay here next time I come to Kyoto!

It's a one-room style tatami, and if you want to experience traditional Japanese tatami, the price is cheap, the room is clean, and it's nice to have yukatas. There was a school nearby and a small playground, so it was nice and quiet. Also, it was close to Nishiki Market, so it was great to walk around, and there were a lot of local restaurants nearby. I plan to visit again the next time I go to Kyoto. The large public bath was like a Korean bathhouse, and I was able to soak in the hot water, so my travel fatigue was relieved! The manager’s grandfather is really kind👍👍

The location is very good, surrounded by restaurants and a large Lawson next to it. It takes 5 minutes to walk to Daimaru Department Store and 5 minutes to Shijo Kawaramachi. It is a quiet place in a busy city. The price is really good during the cherry blossom season. And the hotel has only 27 rooms, so it is easy to manage with few guests and very quiet. Because it has been open for a long time, it is a bit old. The sink is super small and the water will burst when washing your face. The tatami is relatively thin and it is a bit hard to sleep on. The large bath on the first floor below is sparsely populated and very clean. It is very comfortable to soak in it after a day of shopping.

The hotel is considered good for those who want to choose to sleep in a ryokan. It is also close to shopping areas, restaurants, and easy to travel. The reception staff is good. There is an onsen for soaking. The bed site is considered large and the maid comes to clean it. It is very good. In the room, there is hot water and tea to drink. It is very good.

The hotel is located near the commercial center of Kyoto. It is very convenient for shopping, shopping and eating. The Japanese-style tatami room is very interesting to experience. You can try it when you come to Kyoto.

Ctrip indicated that the extra bed is 6500 yen/person, but the hotel front desk did not recognize this price (said they had no idea about Ctrip's standard) and had to calculate it according to the price of the order per person, which was about 11,500, which is almost twice the Ctrip standard. Although the hotel has a large bath, it is actually a 1.8×1.8 bath, and there are no facilities or services. It is very tasteless! Apart from the location, there is no other reason to recommend it.

Kyoto is my favorite city. The hotel is convenient for travel. The room is spacious and comfortable with Japanese tatami. I like it very much. It is not far from the subway station. It is very convenient to eat and go to attractions around.

The room is big, the service is good, and the transportation is convenient! Pleasant experience!
