Kyoto Inn Gion the Second Reviews

Location was perfect for exploring Gion, Ninenzaka, Yasaka Pagoda and Kiyomizu-dera. I stayed 2 nights. Room was clean but small. Still it was adequate for me with 3 cabin size luggages. Those with larger luggages may find it tight. Car park was limited and charged at 2000¥ a day. Continental breakfast was free. Coffee and tea machine was provided in the room too. Would stay again.

Great location for seeing the classic Gion geisha streets. Comfortable and more than acceptable for the low price. The complimentary breakfast is just rolls and instant coffee, but I didn't come for the breakfast, so that's fine. I'd come back.

Nothing to complain about. Clean hotel, comfy beds, good amenities, superb service, free small breakfast. The location is perfect, 15 min by foot to the town center, 10 min to the beautiful touristy streets of Kyoto. Very good value for money.

Very friendly hotel staffs who even came out to help with the luggage when we arrived. The room is more spacious than the norm in Japan. The address is a bit difficult to find as there is “The Second” behind. It’s better to just give taxi driver the address and not the hotel’s name. There is no in-house laundry machine. That’s why it’s missing one star. The location is within walking distance to Kiyomizudera (about 15 minutes). There are convenience stores nearby: 7eleven, family mart and Lawson. The amenities in the room are great. Love the coffee machine, especially the roasted coffee. The roasted green tea is also amazing.

The staff were accommodating and I had a good experience over all. Would recommend this if you wanna stay around Gion.

Very friendly staff, great service and location with good price. Loads of free amenities available at the lobby as well, and shampoo, conditioner and body soap is provided in pump bottles in the bathroom. Very clean and comfy room, the air conditioner has a heated option so our stay during winter was lovely and warm. 1 min walk from Higashiyama Yasui Bus Stop, and a few minutes away from Daigoji Shrine. Super convenient. Allowed us to check into our room early even though we arrived 1-2 hours before the actual check in time. Cute handwritten welcome card is provided along with 2 water bottles. Will definitely come back again if we return to Kyoto.

One of the best hotels in Japan, that I had opportunity to stay.

I would recommend this inn to anybody! The staff was lovely and helpful, including helping us transfer our bags to our next hotel in Osaka. The room was cleaned well every day and the bed was super comfortable. The room was a good size as far as Japanese hotels go. The location was within walking distance of many bus and subway lines, and 10 minutes from the Main Street in Gion. Especially for the price, this hotel was fantastic! Our favorite hotel we stayed at in Japan.

The older service staff in Japan have a cold attitude towards Asians. Not recommended! Don't appreciate it very much

The location, room service, boss and facilities are all very good. The price/performance ratio is very high during the off-season. The room is not small for a Japanese hotel. The room is warmly decorated in Kyoto style. If I have to point out shortcomings, I think there is a full-length mirror missing and there should be a small light above the small bar.

The hotel itself is not bad, but Ctrip is really a scam!!! Booking directly with the hotel can save 70% and include breakfast; we are a three-person trip, and the triple room on Ctrip is more expensive than double + single, but when you ask the hotel offline, the price is very reasonable and cheap Friends who are still planning to go must keep their eyes open

Very cost-effective, strategically located, warm and thoughtful service. After checking out, I came back in the evening to pick up my luggage. They also provided rest and coffee. Before leaving, I was asked to bring mineral water to drink on the way. Thank you🙏

The location is convenient. It's close to places to eat and play. The European, American and Japanese guys at the front desk have special handwritten greeting cards in the room, which is great. It's decorated in Japanese style and has a coffee machine. It's okay.
