Kyoto Granbell Hotel Reviews

A little gem of a hotel right in the middle of Kyoto! Location could not be better. The hotel itself is "Japan sized" (rooms are small) but the space is so cleverly used I spent more time marvelling at the efficiency in design than worrying about the lack of space. Service similarly was very efficient, what was provided was what was needed and done to a high standard. Rooms were not cleaned every day but nice fresh towels were provided every morning. There was no laundry service but there were excellent coin operated laundry machines. Would certainly stay here the next time I return to Kyoto!

Can‘t praise the Granbell Hotel enough. Great location. Nice stylish room. Reasonable price. We habe breakfast from a nearby Starbucks but the buffet looked ok. Laundry service in the basement.

This is my second stay. I love the location, convenience to get around and the onsen in the basement. My pet peeve is their procedure to take a CC deposit to make a restaurant reservation call which caused time wasted back and forth to find out the restaurant was fully booked. 

Lovely staff, rooms a bit on the small side. Breakfast not great.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It is close to the train stations and bus stations. The temples are also within walking distance.

Super good location and friendly staffs but is a trouble to go to the front desk to collect toothbrushes…,

Really like this quaint private hotel. Located in an amazing location steps to shopping streets, the river, Gion and temples. Modern chic decor, nice sitting lounge, good breakfast, welcoming staff, and small but comfortable rooms. Small private bath in the basement is a nice option. When prices are low, it’s well worth the stay.

A very cost-effective hotel, very convenient to various attractions, and the price is really good for the same location and conditions! There is also a large bathhouse where you can take a dip, and the breakfast is also good. Overall, it is really an excellent hotel.

Hotel ideally located in the center of GION close to transport points. Clean room and attentive service. I recommend !

The location is close to Gion Shijo Subway Station, and it is convenient to transfer lines. If you are not afraid of walking a little, you can go directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi Station and take the Hankyu train to Osaka which is super convenient. The room was nice, with enough space to open the suitcase. The bathroom was also ok and clean.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is right next to Hanamikoji. There is a Rika Kimono (Japanese go to) and a Hanato Kimono (Chinese go to) next to it. Let’s talk about the room. It’s really too small. It feels like the whole season. There is almost no room to open the suitcases. The room is not cleaned every day. The price of more than 2,000 is really unexpected... I bought a breakfast coupon of about 2,000 yen at the front desk. , there is nothing to eat in this buffet. Although it only costs a little over 90 yuan, I looked around and the plates were still very empty. You can pick up toothbrushes, toothpaste, facial masks and other things for bathing at the front desk, which is good. There was a hot spring, but I didn't go because I was too busy.
