Hotels near Fukuman-ji Temple, Kyotamba

I stayed in a standard twin room, which originally had no shower room but only a toilet. However, the double room (one bed) has a shower room. Because the room was fully booked at the time, I booked two beds. Maybe the introduction on Trip.com was not correct. The picture of the hotel is clear or there is an error. I wanted to change rooms, but the hotel was full and could not change rooms. Haocai Hot Spring was very good. The portion of the dinner was small.

The hotel's environment and rooms are very beautiful, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. Although there is no convenience store near the hotel, there are different drink options in the hotel. The dinner provided by the hotel is also good. The hotel staff understands English and their service attitude is very friendly, but The only drawback is that the tent room does not provide a separate bathroom

It is not used for lodging, but is used as a ”lunch” and ”hot spring bathing” place for a set trip. It was also a corona misfortune, and the sightseeing bus was only one of us, and it was vacant. The hot spring public bath was simply said to be wide, and I felt it was clean, but this was also about ”normal”. Bath towels will not be lent unless you pay 400 yen, valuables lockers are so small that women cannot put them in their bags, and the security against the risk of theft is ”lowest” class. We left our shoes at the dining hall and bathed in the hot springs in slippers, so it was fine, but when we put on our shoes, the locker fee was 100 yen. It's not a translation, it's extremely sloppy, it's good because it's so empty, but if it's crowded, you can't tell who's slippers it is. Thanks to the staff at the B&B. They saw that I hadn’t gone back at 7pm, so they figured I should take the last shuttle bus from the train station back to the B&B. Since it was starting to get dark at 5 o'clock, they deliberately pulled out a car to pick me up. Although the journey was not long, they saw that I was a woman and would save me from walking around in an unfamiliar field environment, so they offered to pick me up. On the day I left, the B&B took me to the station. They were very honest. Knowing that I rushed back to Kyoto early and would not have breakfast, they gave me a refund (this was breakfast that I added at my own expense and was not included when booking the room).

Well, the main dish is about 3500 yen for hot tofu. It is not a luxury meal like Kyo Kaiseki, but it was suitable for my taste with a thin taste of Kyo style. Although the weather was good, the hot water tofu was delicious because the wind was cold. The cherry blossoms were soft and very gentle and elegant. It is a shop that I want to recommend to acquaintances. < Note > There is no hand washing on the river floor, so you will use the toilet in the hotel main building, but it was a very clean and easy to use toilet.

My wife’s birthday trip at the Suiran was a dream come true. With successive Covid cancellations, it took us four years of planning, but it was worth the wait. With their traditional Japanese structures and landscaping, the Suiran was our oasis of calm during Kyoto’s busiest season (cherry blossoms). We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the best breakfasts of our lives in their dining room, and blissful riverside happy hours in their cafe. Our comfortable room had all the amenities, and a soothing minimalist aesthetic. The Suiran staff is spectacular: thoughtful, gracious, attentive. Through our years of planning and days of enjoyment, we were guided by Suiran’s chief concierge, Hiromi Maruyama. Her kindness, patience, and expertise added greatly to the success of our time in Kyoto. Her suggestions and insights, and good spirits were a beacon shining our way. We are indebted to her for her efforts on our behalf.

This hotel is really nice. #1 The check-in guy was very polite and helpful with excellent English. #2 The rooms are large and clean and fully furnished with fridge, microwave, tv and more. #3 The location is very good.* #4 Fast and faultless wi-fi. However, when you walk to your room the fronts of the rooms look very grey and boring, like a prison. Don't worry though because when you open the door you will be pleasantly surprised how bit and nice the rooms are. *The location is great, BUT it's important to know about the secret path alongside the hotel and canal. If you don't know about that, you will feel it's a long way to the big bridge, but when you know about it, it's great. From the Saga Arishiyama JR station it's a 20 minute walk, but from Hankyu Arashiyama station it's a 1 minute walk.

The owner and wife were kind and smiley. It was the first guest house and the first dormitory, but the person in the room also communicated with the translation app and enjoyed it! The room was clean and very cozy! I also missed the game of the Nintendo (laughs) and I played it. I wanted to use it when I went to Arashiyama again. *ˊᵕˋ*

Been here once in 2015 during my solo trip. After staying here , I feel that I must bring my family here someday. And I did! My family of 5, 2 A and 3C aged 13,10&9 stayed in the Japanese style room from 09-11 June. It's off peak timing so not many ppl are staying here. We get to enjoy the peace and quiet. What's good abt this hostel ? Cleanliness is at its best. The shared bathroom, toilets areas are in top notch cleanliness. You can't find in other youth hostel. The communal onsen area is well maintained and clean. Everyone who use the area has the responsibility to keep it clean and tidy. And am glad that everyone is doing it well. Everyday between 10am to 3pm, u cannot stay in your room as the staff has to clean your room. Common area: kitchen and living area is shared and very cosy place for us to hang around. U can rent games like Uno, jenga from the front desk for free to play with your family. There is also an outdoor balcony area where u can just sit there and enjoy the breeze. The whole compound is at a residential area. So it's serene , peaceful and quiet. A very zen place. I was originally afraid that my kids who are city kids would be bored here... But they actually loved it. Especially making their own cup noodles dinner at the kitchen. There is no TV at the room we stayed , so we went to the kitchen area to watch TV and snack. Like all other YHA, u will be given bedsheets and pillowcase to make your bed and have to return them back to the front desk upon check out. The nearest JR station is abt 5-7mins drive away. It's so nice to come back again.
