I stayed in a standard twin room, which originally had no shower room but only a toilet. However, the double room (one bed) has a shower room. I wanted to change rooms, but the hotel was full and could not change rooms. Haocai Hot Spring was very good. The portion of the dinner was small.

The hotel's environment and rooms are very beautiful, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. Although there is no convenience store near the hotel, there are different drink options in the hotel. The dinner provided by the hotel is also good. The hotel staff understands English and their service attitude is very friendly, but The only drawback is that the tent room does not provide a separate bathroom

Bath towels will not be lent unless you pay 400 yen, valuables lockers are so small that women cannot put them in their bags, and the security against the risk of theft is ”lowest” class. We left our shoes at the dining hall and bathed in the hot springs in slippers, so it was fine, but when we put on our shoes, the locker fee was 100 yen. It's not a translation, it's extremely sloppy, it's good because it's so empty, but if it's crowded, you can't tell who's slippers it is. Of course, if the cooking is not good with this, ✖ 5 will not get a single 0, but only the cooking was far ”better” than expected. However, they don't pay attention to the serving of food at all. I just stayed for two days. I was a little scared at first because there was no information about this hotel, but after I checked in, I found it to be very cost-effective! New hotel, about 2-3 minutes walk from the station. There is aeon nearby, as well as Akechi Mitsuhide statue and castle. If your itinerary is mainly Arashiyama, this hotel is very good. It is very fast to get to Arashiyama and there are beautiful scenery to see on the way! Many people are taking photos at Hojinkyo Station. It’s not expensive during the maple leaf season, it includes breakfast, and you can even take a bath! ! The night shift counter lady is very cute😏! ! ! ! ! And English is very good! Single decisive exchange phone numbers! The room was clean. There were no people on the street at night. My view was of the hotel and apartment opposite, but the space in the middle was very open and felt comfortable. In addition to the TV cabinet, there is also a table for guests to put things on when dining, as well as a small sofa and a chair. Add points! ! ! In addition, the breakfast is also delicious. Most of the guests I see are Japanese. It takes two minutes to the subway station, and there is also aeon, Mitsuhide Akechi statue and castle nearby. It’s not too far from Kyoto Station, a 30-minute drive.

The hotel is a 5 minute (with luggage) walk away from the Saga Arashiyama station. While it is relatively quiet around the hotel itself it is only a 10 minute walk to the main street in Arashiyama. It was very convenient for us to get to the main sights every day. Due to it's great location, we manage to arrive at the bamboo forest by 730am before the huge crowds arrived. We stayed in the annex room and it was wonderful, as it felt like we had a little corner house all to ourselves. The room was clean, comfortable and peaceful. Nespresso coffee was also served in the room. The hotel was also kind enough to leave us a little Japanese souvenir (cloth and coin purse) in the room. If you are looking for a base to explore Arashiyama, we highly recommend this hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

+ Location, the neighborhood is beautiful to the side of the temples and bamboo forest and near the center, 12min in fast train and 17min in normal to the central station. · The hotel is a little old and needs renovation since it is seen that it was only a face wash and not a reform.

This hotel is really nice. #1 The check-in guy was very polite and helpful with excellent English. #2 The rooms are large and clean and fully furnished with fridge, microwave, tv and more. #3 The location is very good.* #4 Fast and faultless wi-fi. However, when you walk to your room the fronts of the rooms look very grey and boring, like a prison. Don't worry though because when you open the door you will be pleasantly surprised how bit and nice the rooms are. *The location is great, BUT it's important to know about the secret path alongside the hotel and canal. If you don't know about that, you will feel it's a long way to the big bridge, but when you know about it, it's great. From the Saga Arishiyama JR station it's a 20 minute walk, but from Hankyu Arashiyama station it's a 1 minute walk.

I and my mother stayed there for one night 20000 yen per person, with dinner and breakfast. It was a very comfortable stay. This was more like a hotel, except that we needed to walk around without your own shoes (without getting dirty feet) inside. It was fully booked on that day. We had an earlier check-in, which mean that we could enjoy our relaxing private Onsen bath without standing in line. We also tried the large onsen baths later in the evening after a long walk in the beautiful Arashiyama area nearby. It was hot, but great. One of the baths was outside in a Japanese garden. We got warmed up from the inside out, and had an ice popsicle before we went up to our room for good nights rest. We also enjoyed a huge dinner and breakfast, true local cuisine with typical taste in Kyoto that supposed to be refined and ”delicate” - you shouldn´t expect any strong taste, and correctly cooked. This supposed to be a 3-star-hotel, but the amenity was completed. We didn´t miss anything here. We thought the staff at the front desk were not amazing, but definitely not poor. We didn´t need to deal with them so much as we had good information in written form. Everything was clean and pleasant. Had absolutely nothing to complain. We would definitely love to come back again. My rating is 4 - not more or less. I certainly see that they still have a room for improvement, but overall I didn´t personally understand all the poor reviews.

The owner and wife were kind and smiley. It was the first guest house and the first dormitory, but the person in the room also communicated with the translation app and enjoyed it! The room was clean and very cozy! I also missed the game of the Nintendo (laughs) and I played it. I wanted to use it when I went to Arashiyama again. *ˊᵕˋ*
