Pro: Absolutely stunning view of the volcano. Best view I ever had from a hotel. The view itself is worth the trip to Costa Rica. The property is also surrounded by a small pond where we saw many birds.
Con: Ants in the room. It is unavoidable to be in true nature like this.
Pro for some people and con for others: Birds jumping and moving and chirping on the wooden roof was very noticeable from inside. I like it a lot but some might find it distracting.

Small, comfortable and well-equipped chalet. The view of the volcano is magnificent. We had the chalet farthest from the road which was a plus for the stay (the road is indeed busy). The breakfast is good and the staff are excellent. The Arena Roca Lodge is very well located (near the volcano park) but you should have a car, especially for dinner in the evening.

Excellent Hotel, the cabin has one of the best views of the volcano, since we arrived Greiving took great care of us, the typical breakfast is super delicious and the place as such is very beautiful. It is worth staying in this hotel. I highly recommend it

Accommodation very far from the center if you are on foot like us (10 minutes by car and 2 hours on foot). On the other hand, close to the volcano national park. The welcome was not the warmest but was still OK. We were able to leave our luggage there all day without having our room yet. The latter was still spacious. Unfortunately the weather was not good so we did not see the volcano but in principle the room has a good view of it. We were lucky enough to share our stay with a lot of ants. We had a little problem with the light in the room (it turned off as soon as we wanted to charge our phone). The breakfast was good/plentiful and it is possible to take it away if necessary. There is a restaurant in the hotel but be careful it is closed on Tuesdays. We were just a little disappointed with the lack of interest and help from the reception staff. We had to book a shuttle to Samara and they clearly did not want to find out about us or help us. We had to pay for a taxi to the center to get information there, too bad! Ps: very good Raoul Castaño restaurant nearby (see photos)

We were three couples of friends, and stayed in three lodges with decent comfort, but without excess. The welcome was very friendly, and that should be highlighted. For the rest, we must admit that the location overlooking a busy road is a real handicap. We are awakened very early in the morning (4:30/5:00) by the regular passage of the numerous heavy goods vehicles which frequent this road. And since there is no sound insulation, I'll let you guess what happens next. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but that was known… We knew it when we went there. On the other hand, breakfast is possible, but it must be emphasized that it is minimalist. In short, despite a breathtaking view on a scale of 1 to 5, if I had to recommend it, I would say: yes if we have no other choice.

Very nice room even if a little old, with a beautiful view of the volcano. The price is a little high for the place especially since there is nothing to eat nearby. Unfortunately for us, the hotel's catering service did not work and the only delivery man provided by the hotel was really bad. Nevertheless good breakfast.
