Let me start by saying the staff here was lovely. The location was about 5 miles outside of La Fortuna. Has a view of the volcano , but it was cloudy every single day we were there and didn’t get to see the top of the mountain. Now the room itself left a lot to be desired. We were in room #2. The room had the bare minimum amenities. One night stand and one short cupboard and a table with 2 chairs. No where to hang your clothes. Our toilet flush tank handle was broken and you had to manually bring it back up every time. The the shower area tap was broken. If you switched it on, the tap would fall out coz of the water force. The shower head didn’t spray water evenly. The cold water knob was broken and would turn in both direction , so to close it you had to know precisely when to stop turning. The TV didn’t work the 3 nights that we were there. The room had a coffee machine which I didn’t use. They have 3 choices for breakfast and all three were delicious. The room was clean but for the price ( it wasn’t cheap) it was like a motel 6. If it wasn’t for the lovely staff I would have 2 stars.

HONEST REVIEW‼️
My two best friends and I, all aged 20 and 21, stayed here for two nights and have nothing but good things to say about this place. We were skeptical about booking this place due to it having a lower number of reviews than other places, but we hit the JACKPOT!! It was very close to the free hot springs, and only a short drive into town! The property was beautiful and you could see the volcano from every bungalow! The air conditioning cooled the entire place very quickly, and the free breakfast was INCREDIBLE!! The staff were very accommodating and also are available to help book adventures and such! They even have some discounted tickets to some places. The pool was being cleaned during our stay, so we did not get to use it, but we didnt even need to! There is a free swimming hole close to town with rope swings and small cliff jumps that is worth checking out!
If you are looking for something affordable, convenient, and non-resort, look no further than Arenal Roca Lodge! We wish we stayed longer! Nothing but amazing things to say about this place. Will be coming back!

La carretera que tiene los bungalows de primera linea, justo enfrente; rompe toda la tranquilidad aparente del lugar. En general,lo demás está bien, aunque su servico, está limitado en cuanto al poco personal que poseen. Cláusulas abusivas de manchas en las sabanas por ejemplo. Así que cuidado con las cremas, repelentes, protectores solares porque parten de 20€.

It’s a great value with best and unobstructed Arenal volcano view for sure. Saw lots of hummingbirds around the property. Basic breakfast but tasted really good. I would recommend this place for those who want to be close to nature.
