I struggle to recognise this as a 5 star establishment. Pleasant enough and in a good location, with friendly staff ready to assist. Sadly the systems and facilities let down the hotel. We stayed 4 nights. The hotel restaurant was fully booked on the first night (we were not warned are advised to book in advance despite contacting the hotel prior to arrival) and it was closed on our second and third nights. We were disinclined to book on our last night. The hotel allows dogs. Fine providing owners do not leave them in the room whilst at breakfast, allowing them to bark constantly and waken neighbours. Breakfast was average and let down by slow replacement of items. The moderately warm but congealed bacon and scrambled egg were not attractive. On the other hand, the kitchen produced two excellent omelettes. Leisure facilities were not used. The steam room and sauna were available but shower facilities were out of action during our stay. Who wants to sit around the leisure area in a sweaty state? The pool was poor and afforded nil privacy. A good, if rather expensive cocktail bar, staffed by a man who knows what he is doing. A good, but again, expensive car parking service. There are no sensible options in this part of town.

Very modern surrounded by the park trees. Hard to realize in the center of a large city. Very quiet. Very large parking area. Had a great room, very good facilities. The outside terrace by the pool was excellent. Breakfast, outside was very varied and lots of favorite choices. The main problem for me was the distance in the heat from the old port, where I had pre -booked dinner. Taxis were not available and the walk was tiring. Staff were very helpful. My only complaint was the hotel situation not being signed as the park entrance gave no indication of a large hotel in its center.

We spent a night from 8/07 to 9/07. The price shown from 49 euros, we paid EUR 85 plus 2X EUR 9 for the small breakfasts, high rates under the pretext that it is the Francofolies ... It is, but vestee room, dirt, unwrought bathroom, deteriorated, The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a good hotel. We told the receptionist that we should ”pleasure” by commenting on the site and we are very happy but really disappointed that we have paid as expensive for services as badly.

Cet hôtel est calme, situé à proximité de La Rochelle. Il propose un parking et un parc arboré. La chambre prestige est spacieuse et correctement équipée. Contrairement aux commentaires d'autres voyageurs, il n'y avait aucun problème de propreté. Les seuls bémols : la chambre mériterait un grand miroir dans la partie salon, un lit king size et un carrelage moins vieillot. Le personnel est sympathique et efficace. GGuest UserAn excellent hotel that was clean and a good location to walk into the old Port. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast excellent. We had a standard room that was a good size and a lovely shower room. Just lacking a handle in the shower and a shower mat for safety reasons. We would highly recommend it.

GGuest UserExcellent stay at hotel, close to train station, 5 minute walk to tourist office, 5-10 minutes to harbor areas and restaruants with view of old harbor, less thanb 10 minutes from pedestrian areas. Comfortable rooms, lots of storage, nice bathroom with shower inside tub. Very good brekafast with oysters for breakfast as well as eggs, meats, cheese, etc. Friendly helpful staff.

GGuest UserExcellent accommodation in a modern and well-equipped hotel (secured parking underground, highly performing wifi, excellent litter, beer bar, quite complete PDJ buffet). The location is excellent only 10 minutes walk away in direct access to the historic heart of the city centre and Old Port, much more effective than in car (20-25mn due to work). Tip: Let his car in the secure parking of the hotel to avoid the gallery to turn around to find a quite expensive and far-from parking place because the nearby parking is quickly saturated.

GGuest UserI stayed 2 nights in this hotel with my 21 year old daughter in the first week in July. It's in a great position, down a beautiful street & a short walk to all the bustling restaurants along the port. The lady at check in was really lovely, friendly & informative (& again when we came back one night wanting a hot drink to take up to bed with us she helped us with this). The rooms were clean & the beds comfortable (I'm a bit fussy when it comes to what I sleep on but I had a great night sleep). We stayed midweek and didn't experience any issues with noise outside. The walls are a little thin and on rare occasions could hear next door but this didn't bother us at all & what this place offered overall more than made up for it. The shower cubicle was small so wouldn't suit everyone. I've been to La Rochelle many times and stayed at various hotels each time depending on who I'm traveling with (as a couple or large group). This place ticked all of the boxes and we weren't disappointed. On another note: I usually take a taxi from the airport but the queue was horrendous and after half an hour we decided to jump on the bus (it was Illico 1b) and it took us only a couple of minutes walk to the hotel from the Dames Blanches/St Nicholas bus stop....for under 2 euros each...so I'd do this again just to save taxi time, regardless of cost. Recommend this hotel....and of course beautiful La Rochelle. Ps. there's a lovely, buzzy restaurant opposite too with yummy food...it was packed so we had to take ourselves off to a nearby bar to have a drink & wait...worth it though as restaurant had great atmosphere. Enjoy!

GGuest UserI really like this hotel, the location is perfect for the old town, with shops, bars, cafes etc within a few metres walk. The main transport square is only maybe 50m away, with lots of buses and bikes. It’s such a cool vibe inside the hotel, like 70’s style. Very friendly staff, very good value. The breakfast is ok, like a continental selection, nothing hot (apart from boiled eggs) but it’s fine. I’m on the second floor and here is a slight fan type noise all the time, it’s quieter as you go down each floor, but I’ve slept well. The veranda is a little grubby, as is the central outdoor area, but everything else is immaculate. Don’t expect that perfect modern hotel look, the bathroom for example looks “dated” but that’s the point - it’s really clean and looks so cool and homely, not like all the usual modern hotels that have no character. Good selection of books downstairs. I really like the place, originally booked 3 nights but extended that to just over a week which says something. Only marked 3 for Services as there’s not much else other than rooms, a chill out area and the breakfast room, so don’t expect spas/pools etc

GGuest UserOverall it's very good, the front desk is patient and responsible! The hotel management is very good. The door will be closed at night, and you need the password given in the key card to open the door. It feels very safe; the hotel and the room are also very clean! The city is beautiful. It takes 15/20 minutes to walk or take the bus to the beach. It is well worth a visit!

GGuest UserThe location is very convenient, really close to the center, and with some convenience stores near by. However, the ”studio” is actually a single room with a bed which takes all the space, a tiny kitchen space and a bathroom which has a lot of empty space, a tiny shower and a tiny basin. The window-door to the terrace cannot open fully because the bed is in it's way. Hardly any room to hang your clothes, the trash bin is actually set in the closet... Too bad the architect had no sense of practicallity. As i stayed ”only” one week, no cleaning was done for the room (not even once), and I hardly crossed any staff trhoughout my stay. The lady at the receptionist may need to have some english lessons so that she can feel more comfortable with tourists from other countires. In conclusion, disappointed and would not renew with this type of ”studio”.

The hotel is a very good place to find a new way to get information about the tourists. The hotel is a very nice hotel, and the hotel is very nice and very nice.
