Set in the city’s highbrow area of Ikeja, 3 miles from Murtala Muhammed International airport and ten minutes from the commercial district of Allen Avenue, is the luxury boutique CitiHeight Hotel. It is also in the vicinity of several global hotel brands including Ibis, Sheraton and Radisson Blu. Having booked our holiday straight after the Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s July 19th announcement, my daughter and I took our first post COVID-19 international trip in search of some culturally relevant inspiration. Lagos was a great option as it is on the UK government’s amber list of countries and a destination where we could really get immersed in the culture. Our UK airport experience was hectic to say the least, and we arrived a day later than scheduled. Even the most-prepared traveller is advised to have two or three back-up plans in case of “incaseities”. I sent a quick email to the hotel, explaining the last minute change in plans and luckily for us, Banji, the hotel manager was very accommodating and sympathetic to our plight. Upon arrival, we were treated like VIP’s by the polite and friendly hotel staff who took our luggage and escorted us to our room on the 6th floor. Prior to our travel, we had made reservations through booking.com and in response to our welcome email, we made a special request for “a high floor with a birds eye view”. While our preference was peace and privacy, we anticipated endless trips down to the restaurant and bar. Our executive room was pretty much like the photos on the website. Palatial, lustrous and spacious, featuring a plush king size bed with bespoke bedside cabinets and an inviting lounge area. Alongside the usual amenities, there was the obligatory hand sanitizer, but I couldn’t help but notice the bold and intriguing artwork decorating the walls. What a fantastic way to showcase emerging as well as established artists. CitiHeight is a luxury boutique hotel, on par with international standards, and I would go as far as calling it an ‘art hotel’ considering the vast art collection and attention to visual aesthetics. The allure for me was the authentic art pieces dotted throughout the hotel. From the hotel entrance, to the lobby, restaurant, and on every floor. I saw choice object d’art pieces that fused local elements of traditional art within the luxury architecture, giving the hotel a sense of high-end opulence fused with contemporary cool. I began to envisage a ‘classic meets contemporary’ theme for a photo shoot. Tip: Take some Instagrammable shots around the hotel (Do not touch artwork). Pool Life: When it comes to ‘pool life’ at CitiHeight, just grab a sunbed and relax. Although the pool lacks an outside view, poolside was a popular hangout for my daughter and her friends. Since it had a private/secret garden feel that was ideal for swimming, sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun during the day. Hotel location is good, very close to the airport. Because of the unusual traffic congestion in Lagos, it is important to catch the flight in time. In addition, the security check is strict to ensure safety and live in peace of mind. There is also a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel, the dishes are in line with Chinese dietary habits. Overall, it is recommended to go to Lagos.

It is very close to the airport, and it will be 15 minutes when there is no traffic jam on the weekend. However, the traffic jam in Lagos is very serious, you must allow enough time for travel. The hotel is on a small road. Because of security issues, I didn't go out for a walk. The breakfast is very rich, I like it, and the taste is very good. Overall pretty good.

The Christmas decor was awesome, I loved the touch of Nigerian dishes in the buffets served. The staff were very helpful and polite. The transport service was excellent (for a day trip to town) Highly recommend the hotel. Within walking distance of various restaurants and clubs. The jollof pasta is excellent 👌🏾

Facilities: relatively simple, but basically there, and relatively new. There is coffee downstairs, Chinese and Western food upstairs, as well as sports and massage! Hygiene: relatively clean and hygienic Environment: There are many people and the location is pretty good. You can see many black people taking photos in the lobby every day, and you can also see many stewardesses and stewardesses waiting for pilots. Service: OK, not 100 points, but 80-90 points

The location is 15-20 minutes from the Murtala International airport. Check in in less than 5 minutes The room is clean, and the space is about 18 m ,cattle and 2 bottles of water for free . It has a bar,restaurant serving the 3 meals and a small pool area.breakfast included in my booking and offering egg station,bacon,sausage ,rice,beef, or chicken with vegetables. American coffee and juices.employyes are very polite and helpful, especially Victor. One of the money value hotels in Lagos, I do recommend it if your business around Ikeja area. Note:Don't book a car from the hotel as it's very, very expensive, you can use Uber as it's safe and 75%cheaper.

The rooms have regular cleaning management, laundry service is free, the three meals a day are especially suitable for Chinese tastes, and there is also a garden swimming pool, as well as a bar and karaoke entertainment facilities. This is the most comfortable Chinese hotel in Africa.

Hospitality standards from the staff is poor, lack of emotional intelligence, lack of empathy for the guest. I have never seen where a guest would need to go down to the reception in front of other guests to give his laundry for dry cleaning!!!totally weird. Front office agent Moses needs to undergo more training on how to greet the guest and body language usage when in front of a guest . We are paying, so your staff needs to learn how-serve with courtesy. Your room service staffs are bringing their card machines inside the room to plug to the socket and charge it before taking payment???? Wasting our time till our food got cold and unenjoyable! Even after telling her to come back for the payment so as to eat on time, she directly declined like we were going to run away without paying. Phones are not working properly, when ordering I was told to speak louder couple of times till I started shouting on top of my voice. Total wasted night

The Rollace hotel is a new found gem for me in Lagos, Ikeja Nigeria. I found this place by sheer luck on *********** and i have to say it was the Best choice yet. The welcome i received from Jessie at the front desk blew me away, when on entering I was addressed by name, that made me know that special effort was being made to make me feel at home. The staff was so courteous, the place extremely clean, the room was exceptionally large and truly exceeded my expectations, a livingroom area with a sofa set, a separate dining area with a washroom, and a spacious bathroom. The bed, linen and pillows provided the most comfortable sleep. The chef makes the most Scrumptious meals and his menus cannot be challenged. The Rollace fish, so tasty and decorated with vegetables and fries is a sell off. Next from the bar is the Very Berry smoothie, that's to die for. The ambience at the poolside with the best DJ ever can only be experienced. Thanks to Dan who meticulously made sure the guests meals were served in a timely manner, and to Michael our server who was so attentive.
