My experience at the Sundowner Hotel in Lake George was incredibly frustrating. I booked a room through ******* and paid in full. After a grueling five-hour drive through a snowstorm—our first family trip with our baby—we arrived exhausted, only to be told the hotel never received payment from *******. The hotel would not give us a room unless we paid in full for the same amount i paid *******. So we were stranded in a snowstorm with a 6 month old and no other option but to pay for the room again.
The manager’s ‘solution’ for me to get a refund was to suggest I tell ******* I wanted to cancel my stay because I couldn’t make it. But, I didn’t purchase trip insurance, so ******* wouldn’t refund me after numerous attempts. This left us stranded, stressed, and out of pocket for a room I had already paid for.
It’s a real shame because the hotel itself was beautiful. The rooms were clean, the view was stunning, and everything else was lovely. I would have loved to recommend this place. Unfortunately, due to the unprofessionalism of management and the lack of proper communication with *******, I just can’t. Travelers deserve better reliability and service. I have been visiting Lake George since i was a child and this was my worst experience on the lake. Shame on the management of this hotel!
UPDATE: When we arrived home we explained everything to *******. They refunded me in full.

Overpriced for what it is and given many other options. Totally expected a view and barely one of you stated outside at edge of deck.
Bed pillows were ridiculously uncomfortable /Get many small pillows for flexibility.

The property is located near the local shops and restaurants and other fun activities such as boat rides and cruises. It is waterfront which why we booked the place.They have a small sand area that has lake access.Kayak and paddle board with life vests are free.Most of the cabin has small kitchen.They have heated outdoor pool and outdoor seats.
My cabin has 2 queen sized bed and 1 full bath and the half bath is helpful as well.I have a small kitchen, refrigerator and microwave. I only put 2 stars for cleanliness because honestly my cabin is not clean.I even took pictures of the mouse droppings inside the drawers where they keep utensils and cooking wares. I did not use them and bought utensils at the store.
Overall, the location is great and will give this experience a 5 out of 10. I may or may not come back to this place.

Anniversary weekend
The room was very clean and comfortable. The only flaw was there was no place to put your folded cloths. The room needs a dresser. I would highly recommend the Sundowner. Easy walk to town and restaurants. Free use of kayaks, canoe and a rowboat.

Thin walls, uncomfortable bed, nice decor
Very thin walls could hear other rooms clearly, WiFi was very slow. Pillows on the bed were SOOO lumpy.
Rooms were well decorated but apart from that not a lot to recommend about this place.
