Super 8 by Wyndham Lakeland
3.4/525 Reviews
This is a very bad hotel. The good is its location, it’s right next to route 40 and it’s well lit parking lot. The bad started with check in. The employee/owner that checked me in greeted me with a grunt and took a while to check me in. I asked for an extra pillow and he looked at me like I had 3 heads and told me they don’t have pillows at this hotel. I asked do you mind looking and he said there are 3 in the room that is enough for you. The ugly was everything else. Our room was at the back of the hotel and there were two ruff looking people/possible vagrants passed out in the outdoor pathways, one on the 1st floor and one on the third. I went back to the front desk to tell the front desk guy and he insisted I give him my credit card because the booking agent didn’t charge me for my pet. He did not ask about the people I observed nor showed any concern for my family housed in his hotel. I left the check in box and he followed me, yelling obscenities and demanding $15. He followed me back to my room badgering me the the whole way, told me I was wrong about the humans strewn about the parking lot, claiming they are guest and he didn’t want to bother them. I left him to deal with the drunks below us and trudged up the steps to my room to find a new fresh hell. The room was filthy. The carpet was crunchy, the bed sham smelled like a year old gym bag and there was a thick layer of dust on most surfaces. 2 of the 4 lightbulbs in the room were dead, the faucets was dirty, the shower was disgusting and covered in lime and all of the lamp shades were dented and stained. My wife and I slept in our cloths and got the f&@k outta there first thing in the morning. This hotel does not deserve to be a Super 8, this hotel does not deserve your business and this hotel does not deserve to exist.
