Arrived yesterday and today we were entertained by a great DJ (are DJs still called DJs?) accompanied by a brilliant Sax player and electronic violin player then two wonderful lady singers and the entertainment was enhanced by two lovely ladies Laura and Hannah who danced and presented us with Champagne, tattoos (yes tattoos!) and encouraged us to dance the afternoon away. Roll on next Saturday 🌞😎😁👍🏻
Fantastic hotel. staff are exceptional. Everything about it is wonderful. The staff are kind and professional. The food is amazing. Our room was very comfortable with amazing views. It has a fabulous restaurant with a fantastic selection of food. The pool area is so calming and peaceful. The one negative is the pool beds. They are not very comfortable. They are not old in fact quite modern but there is a metal bar across the back that really hurts your back. They need soft mattresses on them. We had a wonderful holiday at this gorgeous hotel and plan to return early next year.
I can highly recommend this clean and comfortable hotel within a short walk of the centre of Yaiza. It is worth paying the supplement for an upgraded room as it is very enjoyable to sit on your own balcony in the evening to relax and read a book or to have a drink. The hotel restaurant is, in my opinion, the best in Yaiza with excellent food and very attentive staff. The very appetising hotel buffet style breakfast is served in the courtyard and it provides a wide range of breads, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, teas and coffees. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

What a find! This modern, spacious and well equipped two-storey villa has 5 bedrooms and is a world of luxury. A 20-25 minute walk from the airport along a safe dual use cycle path / footpath, you don't need a taxi or a bus. We booked Magma Rooms for the first 2 nights of a 7 day visit, as was arriving late 10pm+ from the UK. A second night at Magma was good to explore nearby restaurants and visit the beach in the day. What can I say about the room? It had everything you needed from free-to-use safe, flat screen TV, power shower, hairdryer, fan, extra pillows and blankets. In the shared facilities there is a Nespresso machine and mini bar fridge (pay via honesty box) as well as wine glasses, bottle opener etc. They have thought of everything! After check-out we then walked back to the airport to catch the # 161 bus to Puerto del Carmen (1.40€ each).

Located in this popular resort and just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, these studio apartments give you the independence of a self-catered holiday while being close to the resort’s amenities. The complex holds two floors connected only by stairs. Therefore, people with reduced mobility must book ground floor rooms.
Cool off from the Lanzarote sunshine in the complex’s pool before relaxing on the poolside terrace.
Cook up a feast in your apartment’s equipped kitchen. The simple apartments are adequately furnished and decorated with wooden furniture and attractive, tiled floors.
Take the pleasant stroll to Costa Teguise´s fantastic beach where you will find golden sands and bright blue seas. Walk a little further along the promenade and discover fantastic island views as well as some lovely, secluded spots. Ideally located near all the resort’s facilities, you will find everything you need nearby. Complement your self-catered holiday with a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants which cater for all tastes.
We spent two weeks at Casa de Hilario in Feb/March. The house is a traditional rural house outside the village of Yaiza in the centre of Lanzarote. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with views to the village and one of the many small volcanic peaks. Breakfasts were buffet style and self service, with tables indoors and outdoors on the large garden terrace. The food was fresh and the service from Lucia was excellent. The house was unstaffed in the afternoons and evenings and there was no bar or coffee facilities, which we missed. The guests all learned to stock up on snacks and drinks in the local supermarket. There is a good, traditional restaurant (Bodega de Santiago) next door for those who don't want to travel too far to eat, though our favourite restaurant was the nearby, sister property Casona de Yaiza which was excellent (we ate there four times). A good base for travelling around the island and will suit those who seek peace and tranquility in a lovely village. Not so good for those seeking a lively nightlife.
We spent 16 nights over Christmas and New Year at the Fariones and had a great time. The Hotel is beautifully and tastefully renovated with subtle luxury in a classic mid- century design which you would typically find in smaller boutique hotels. Many old features of the traditional Fariones Hotel were kept which all together provides a very comfortable and classy and elegant atmosphere without being stuffy or fussy. The grounds and garden resemble top luxury resorts in Thailand or the Maldives with plenty of palm trees, exotic gardens and many different and private areas for lounging, sun bathing, relaxing and so on. All 3 restaurants have their own style with great food and service. All rooms have sea views with a high level of comfort, design and decoration The sports center 2 minutes walk away although a little older offered everything needed and more... The hygiene concept was professional and taken seriously Hotel Director Jörg and his team made great efforts during Christmas and New Year with a classy programme of dining, entertainment, live music and daily piano sessions which all in all provided a very festive atmosphere. The multinational team of the Fariones displayed a very positive spirit. The hotel opened only a few month before the holiday season and it seemed that everone was exited to be back in business ater 4 yers of renovation. Despite the reopening there was not a single negative service moment in over 2 weeks. Just to name a few staff members who made it a special stay for us: Arnaud, Emilie and Javier from reception. Fransisco, Anna, Miriam and Elke from Guest relations. Marco, Elizabeth, Veronica, Ivano, Isaac and Julius from service Harriet and Patrick from Kaori The Lobby bar team Thanks to the Fariones team for a great Holiday I wish you all the best for the co ming months in this challenging pandemic times. We are looking forward to comin back at easter! A.T. (#624/625)
This hotel is amazing! Just finished our holiday here & we have had a brilliant time! The hotel is very clean, swimming pools are amazing, food is fantastic with a huge variety. We went all inclusive and it was well worth. Do not listen to the bad reviews on this hotel! The only negative is that the tea and coffee in the rooms is not refilled everyday & the bathroom bin was not always emptied. Only small things. The staff are so lovely and work so very hard. Alex on the entertainment was fantastic and so enthusiastic and Sebitas on the waiting staff was so lovely and worked so very hard. If you are looking for a busier area this is not the place, however WE LOVED IT & will be back!!!!

Excellent
We had a really lovely week at this hotel and it surpassed our expectations. It was a really beautifully designed hotel designed in the local style apparently and although it is big it still faint intimate and there was a lot of quiet space. We asked for a peaceful room and would certainly ask again for room 2143 which had a great balcony and sea view and a big room with lots of good storage space. The bathroom and room were immaculate although the bathroom was a little dated but renovations are taking place soon. Plenty of good quality sun beds, umbrellas and an adult as well as a mixed pool. Great programme during the day ie yoga, pilates and aqua aerobics and good quality animation at night. We used the spa most days as you have access to sauna and ice bath. We went half board as we like to go out for one meal a day and on your doorstep lots of lovely little restaurants and bars or a really nice 20-30 min walk into Puerto del Carmen which had some amazing restaurants. The food in the hotel was excellent and plenty of choice for every pallate. We don't usually go back to hotels or places but we are certainly considering a return for late sun Sept/Oct 25 as it was so good and Lanzarote is a lovely Island to explore.
Having stayed previously in a Diamond Resort complex on the Costa Del Sol we were hoping that Club Del Carmen would offer the same standard of accommodation and it did not disappoint. This is a fantastic small complex in a quiet area of Puerto Del Carmen literally across the road from a fantastic sandy beach. It is a short walk along the coast (5-10mins) to the start of the main ***** but there are bars and restaurants closer. The on site Baily Bar does fantastic quality food, well worth staying on site and having dinner here. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs, one bedroom opens onto a terrace with sun loungers. Upstairs there is a living and kitchen area, another shower room with WC, and a balcony with table and chairs. The kitchen has everything you need including a dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine, hib and oven and large fridge freezer. Plenty of equipment to self cater if you want to pans pots cutlery etc. The apartment also has iron and ironing board. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. The on site pool is small but the complex is small and the pool never felt overly busy. The sunbed booking system is great means that there's no mad rush. Never an issue securing beds but the complex is so small most people seemed just to bathe on their patio or balcony.. Also the option to have freshly baked pasty and bread delivered to your room is something we used every day. Overall it's a brilliant complex with a great on site bar and restaurant in a fantastic location. All staff were very helpful and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this complex. It was brilliant.
Jjuliahh2013Feel ripped Off, DID NOT GET ROOM WE PAID FOR. PAID €144 for a room with a Seaview. On arrival found Major road work and traffic redirection outside the front of the hotel. Reception put us in a ground floor rear of the hotel room 116 so we we're not disturbed by the roadworks (which we're finished by 5pm and silent) Room 116 is just about street level on the redirection traffic route and hence very busy with traffic and people until the early hours of the morning. We asked to move to a seaview room that we had PAYED FOR, but told not possible as only there one night. We had little to no sleep and a very poor stale croissant breakfast. Explained this to reception staff on checking out, they we're not interested and just said 'Goodbye'. We asked if they care about their customers and the older male reception staff member said 'No!'. They are mis-selling these rooms and not informing customers of the major road works out front of hotel. We feel ripped off and will never go there again. Anyone considering going to hotel Lancelot, think again and go elsewhere, as they see you as a cash cow and will get plenty more customers THEY CAÑ MISLEAD. Shame on them ! See photos blowout of unclean bathroom, road work and view from our Windows and traffic passing until early hours of the night, hotel Windows offer little noise reduction.
GGuest UserStayed for two nights whilst on vacation exploring Lanzarote, paying a pretty good price for a last-minute booking. The compact hotel is very well located near the centre of Arrecife, on the coast almost directly opposite the Castillo de San Gabriel. There is no parking available at the hotel, although there is a large public 24hr underground carpark near the Arrecife Gran Hotel about a 10-minute walk away (around 30€ for a day and a half). Check in was quick and friendly, despite a late-night arrival. My room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the back streets of Arrecife. The room was comfortable although the décor was perhaps a little old. Good WIFI, but the room had only one free power socket (as the fridge had been unplugged before I arrived). The bed was fairly comfortable, some noise from the street at night, but nothing too loud. My room didn’t have aircon, which wasn’t an issue in October, but maybe an issue in the summer? Breakfast was on the terrace at the top of the hotel giving really good views; and a good selection to food choose from. Overall, a well located hotel to explore Arrecife and the surrounding area, but given the limited facilities at the hotel and lack of parking maybe better for short stays!
GGuest UserI was made feel very welcome when I arrived at Pension Magec. The hospitality I received from the management and other guests was amazing. Its a very friendly place. The property is very clean and my room was cleaned everyday. The management are extremely helpful. The management will go out of their way ensure that guests needs are met all times. Carla is lovely as are everyone else works there including Sandi the manager The view from the top veranda is stunning. The guests can sit and have a drink and chat together on the veranda. As a solo traveller you would never be lonely and its very safe. Everyone talks to each other when up on the veranda. You are made feel welcome by both management and other guests at all times. There is always someone to talk to. I felt we were like a big happy family. There is free tea and coffee at the property. I would highly recommend Pension Magec as its very central. Kind regards Anna from Ireland
GGuest UserNice and clean and great location. Street it is on felt a little dark and we were wary walking down it at night. Only downside was noise levels , everything seemed to echo so we could hear doors slamming, people walking and talking all night, shower from room upstairs etc
Would recommend especially for price and value.
MMichaelJohnthis hotel is perfect if you want easy way to get to airport the next day. there is a bus stop 5 min walk away, the buses connect all the island. the staff are efficient and polite. they helped me print my boarding pass at no charge. I didn't try the dinner buffet(half a dozen dishes)but looked good for about 18 euros. there is a big map of arrecife on the wall that you can photo and use to get around the city. we had a sea view room, recommended the view is nice.
Just back after a weeks stay . I’ll start with positives . Room large and spacious with good sized balcony , we had a sea view which was lovely . Cleaners came in every other day and day before departure they changed towels only . Shower and bathroom had been upgraded by the looks and was very nice , products available . Staff very friendly and very hard working . Breakfast best meal of the day . Pool was a good size but Lanzarote has few heated ones so quite cold to go in in January , although some people did brave it . Location perfect , spar opposite and bars on the walk down to the strip . Turn right to walk to the harbour , lots of shops and restaurants on the way . Turn left to the strip , so ideally situated . Wines , beer , sangria , coffees and soft drinks all available in the restaurant . Small bar but variety of drinks and snacks bought out am and pm. Lift available to all floors . Now the negatives . Bedroom area very small in comparison to living area , could do with a re jig somehow ??? Doors to room are wooden and you have a key not a electronic entry system , they bang badly and the noise level is awful at all hours from this as is the noise of people scraping chairs around on the balconies at all hours also . The food let this hotel down , although items replenished frequently and quite a variety , food was quite bland and Luke warm . Parasols and sun beds tired looking and stained , could do with a refresh . Inclusive cocktails premixed and very watery . I wouldn’t stay here again based purely on the noise of the doors etc , you can close them quietly but people don’t and it’s disturbing . But location perfect and you go could do bed and breakfast or self catering as an option . I was unable to give a good rating as not the option so had to give average but I’d say it was a good hotel for 2*.
After reading reviews was worried about what we had booked into, all I can say it’s what you make it and we had a fantastic extended family holiday. Yes lots of steps but our elderly parents managed fine even been up in the gods. Rooms very out dated and would benefit from some TLC, the views from the rooms are amazing looking out over the sea, absolutely beautiful to sit and relax with a brew in a morning and drinks in the evening. Pool is very deep but there is a small kids pool where ours played all day long with no issues. We were self catering but had many a brunch at the food bar and the food is excellent and reasonable. The resident ducks and one young seagull arrive when the pool closes at 6 which the kids found amazing taking pictures on their iPads. Lovely situated in old town with plenty of bars and places to eat. Life guard that was on during our week stay was fun and we had a good laugh with him. All I can say is no it’s not the Hilton but if it was you would be paying a way lot more. My advise if you have booked this is go and enjoy yourself a holiday is what you make it. I would book again for the location and views.
