Only reason I gave one star is because I can’t leave zero! I booked this room online many months ago because this is graduation weekend for university and accommodations are hard to come by especially for the Friday nite before . I had a strange feeling about this reservation the day before our check in , so I decided to call and confirm. The number listed is what I called and got a “number can’t be completed as dialed “ message. Basically the phone was disconnected. That made me VERY concerned! So I called Choice Hotel customer service and spent almost an hour on the phone with a very competent representative named Riza. She insisted that the hotel was active and could not explain why the phone was disconnected. She told me I could email them about reservations. Why wouldn’t a hotel answer the phone ? I’m not going to email them and stay there , is the place even open or operated remotely.?No way was I going to chance that so I luckily found another place to stay . When we got into town I drove past the Econo Lodge and it appeared vacant . This was 3pm in the afternoon. A lot of the windows the screens were ripped and flapping in the wind and one room appeared to have a broken window. Since I paid in full up front months ago they will not under any circumstances issue me a refund or even a credit , so I’m out 221.60. I should have read the reviews before I book because many reviews were just like this! Choice Hotels should be ashamed of having this place be part of thier “family “ Unbelievable….
