We had been really looking forward to staying at The Mondrian. We booked the Summer Offer B and B which included, room available from 9am, (Heure d'enregistrement: La chambre est disponible à partir de 09:00.) and ... ”Arrive when you want, parking is on us, get upgraded, sip a cocktail per person at the bar, and leave by 2pm” ... We arrived with our car and had to go looking for the valet - there was no sign to clearly indicate where the reception was so I first went in to the restaurant where a member of staff (not overly friendly) sort of directed me. Once at the reception, after a short wait, we began the booking in process. It was shortly after 2pm and the receptionist said she had to phone to check if our room was ready! I advised that it was supposed to be ready from 9am (as per my booking conditions) and she said that it is hard to have the room ready for 9am if people are leaving from the night before after 12pm! I had to mention the upgrade also - the receptionist clearly wasn't aware about the terms of the offer! I had to go back to the reception to ask about our free cocktail. The male member of staff seemed surprised we hadn't been given our voucher at checkin. No apology was offered. I have to say the room was beautiful and would have been perfect if the airconditioning worked. There was also slime of some sort on the table and a grape seed in the bathroom that a previous occupant must have spat out! Other than that the room appeared to be clean. There was a heatwave warning in force and in any event, no-one wants to sleep in a warm room. I spoke to a member of staff at the reception if he would be able to set the aircon to 17.5oC - he advised that a technician would look at the problem remotely. When we arrived back to our room after dinner the thermostat initially read as 17.5oC (although it certainly didn't feel like that). We were unable to sleep as it was so warm! I got up at one stage and the thermostat was showing 21oC - I guess the technician turned it up again remotely. The bed was harder than I am used to and the pillows were too soft. We ate at the hotel's restaurant, Morimoto - separate review but bottom line we were not impressed. Breakfast was okay but coffee and omelette order was slow and the member of staff wasn't particularly pleasant. It was not a 5 star breakfast by any means! At check out our bill included the parking which was supposed to be complementary as per our offer. The receptionist seemed reluctant to deduct it from the bill and made it sound as if she was doing us a favour rather than it being her mistake. She didn't apologise! The Summer B and B offer turned out to be a bit of a scam! If you have booked this package make sure you get what you are paying for and check your bill. We did have a nice enough stay as the hotel itself was beautiful - but although the hotel may look 5 star the service, staff and room comfort are definitely not. The receptionist (the same one b

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base to visit Bordeaux. From the outside the hotel does not look like much and google maps took us through a questionable part of town to get here. Less central than the centre would imply this hotel is about 15-minute walk from the main part of Bordeaux however it is very close to the tram and a shopping centre/mall. The room was comfortable and a typical size room for novotel. The hotel internally looks recently renovated and have a reusable water bottle system in place however its only 1 per room and there was 2 of us.

This hotel is not a hotel. It is more a hostel. At hotel prices. It is dirty. It stank when we got there, of nothing I'd ever experienced before. And I've spent many a night backstage at music festivals. It is hot. It has one window which can be opened and it needs to be open as otherwise you are in a sauna. And that's with the windows facing north. Heaven help those on the other side of the place, no really, I am worried about you. Because of the open window, even with the shutter closed, no air comes in but what you do get is noise, doors slamming all night long, loud horrendous music from their bar. Or you don't shut the shutter and leave the room open at ground level to anyone wanting to dive right in. It is priced at hotel prices. It is not eco. In any way. Being eco means designing a building to be suitable for use in an ecological fashion. This place is badly designed, badly fitted out, has no amenities and is just a cheap and nasty hostel. By the way, we also got bitten by a plague of things from the moment we got there to the moment we left. We should have gone after the first night but you live and learn. Such a fantastic city, this place should be condemned. What a waste of money. The only nice bit is the potager plants and herbs on the rear walkway. Which of course you see quite alot of as you don't want to spend any more time than necessary in the actual room. Oh and we couldn't lock the door from the inside, as it had recently been smashed in.

The hotel is unbeatable. The staff, the services and the location, out of 10!

Clean, decent cold breakfast choices and a very helpful front desk person (Kathleen) who worked hard. This is the third Holiday Inn Express I stayed at in Europe. There's good news and bad news about that. If you're from the U.S. these hotels in Europe are not like ours. Rooms are furnished minimally but functionally and are very clean (cleaner than many of ours). The down side is the minimal furnishing of things that could really be used in Europe but missing, i.e., no refrigerator, microwave, guest laundry or even an ice machine. These are things we expect at most of their U.S. properties. This hotel is hard to find and when you get there you feel like you're going into a prison with all the locking gates! There is a little grocery store (Spar) about a block away. There isn't much to do in this neighborhood so you will find Spar to be a handy place. I would stay here again but its too bad basic HI-Express amenities are lacking.

Comfortable, compact and clean rooms. Large bed. Close to airport. Quiet. Everything you needed at a reasonable price. Liked the key card drop off and coded gate as we had an early start. Bonus kettle in room nice touch

The hotel is located on the east side of the airport. It looks like taking a bus to the airport for about one or two stops. The facilities in the room are relatively simple and primitive. If you have high quality requirements for the hotel, it is recommended not to go.

Good location, in the southern suburbs of Bordeaux, with a small swimming pool, suitable for children to play in the water, this price also has a double breakfast, very suitable, the staff service is very polite, take the initiative to make pancake fruit for me in the morning, fluent in Chinese and English. Directly drive to the city center for 25 minutes, with free parking, and a large supermarket in a parking lot.
