Hampton Inn & Suites Fredericksburg South

Stay away from room 109 especially if you have allergies or sensitivities to smell. The smell of mold is beyond subtle and like nothing I have experienced in other hotels. If we hadn't just driven for 10 hours and got in late we would have asked to have the room switched. We went to sleep thinking the a/c would take care of the smell but it remained pretty intense and horrible. Even with allergy meds I woke up horribly congested. Also the room shares a wall with the lobby bathroom so every flush was echoing against the headboard. And finally there is a lightshow in the bathroom anytime you turn the light on. I've been to other Hamptons and never experienced this before which is why I booked here, but wow this my worst hotel experience ever.

A little outside of the main downtown area. Well done facility. It is off a main road and very close to the interstate. We had a suite type room which was nice and very clean. Parking lot is well lighted.

We had an issue with check in for a party in our group who was overcharged $100. However the front desk contacted ******* and was able to resolve the issue Hotel was under going renovations but would definitely stay here again

Overall, very good stay, the hotel is under construction and they should have shared this with customers prior to arrival.

We had a complete black out in the middle of the night all the way to the early morning which made the room so hot. My husband did go downstairs to see what was going on , only negative thing to say was all the eme lights in the stairwell did not work and there were no eme lights in the hallways this had me concerned if there was ever a evacuation needed we would be trampling over each other due to the darkness. But the staff were so apologetic, totally not their fault we left around 6:15am just when the lights came back on and I’ve never seen staff hustle so much to put out to go bags , the hotel is under construction on top of this black out but the gentleman grabbed us said please wait he put out fresh coffee, the hospitality I saw in the morning you couldn’t even be a little upset over something that was so uncontrollable. Kudos to all the staff who worked night of Feb 14th. They really turned something negative to a positive outcome!!! The hotel was extremely clean , not the comfiest beds but definitely not the worse !

The room and bathroom were clean. I traveled with my dog and we received a cute little pet pack, the hotel is undergoing construction which I am sure will look nice when it is done.

All good and clean I just wish if I knew there breakfast area was under renovation before I confirmed my booking

No one answered the phone when I called to say I would be arriving late. The lobby was under construction so breakfast was served in to-go bags. I understand that is completely out of staff's control, but the take out policy should have been communicated. The hotel lost power during the night (again, out of their control) but housekeeping started knocking on doors around 8:30 am because they could not access the computers to figure out which rooms had to be cleaned. Finally, they started vacuming the halls at 9:30 AM which, for a Sunday, seems too early. Especially since check out was 11. Staff were very friendly and doing the best they could with the collection of challenges.
