The hosts (Susan and Al) were lovely, and the breakfasts fantastic. Susan is quite the cook and let’s not slight Al, the sous chef/dishwasher 😊). Our room was so large, just like we like and decorated so nicely. Susan put fresh towels in our room each day which is more than we expected (nice surprise). Dudley, their ever so friendly puppy, was adorable. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance or short drive. We loved the farmers market in the park on Saturday. The high point of our visit was the tour at The Mount or the Edith Wharton estates. Absolutely gorgeous home. Edith was an amazing woman. An engineer, visionary, designer, decorator and yes, she some how found time to write 40 books in 40 years. All that in an era when women’s only role in life was marry, have children and keep house. I’d recommend taking the guided tour and oh….don’t forget to tip the guide!
