The room was nice.

You’d expect a lot more of the basics for the price. Paper coffee cups instead of real ones. No wine glasses. No mini-bar. No bottle opener. The room was clean and lacking anything that could make it homely. Would I stay here again. In short, not for the price. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a luxury standard facility.

Nice, quite new, clean hotel just nearby Leeuwarden. Friendly staff. Menu not in English, as typical here. But everyone are speaking English enough. If you want peace and view, choose room in back side, heading towards city. If you want sun and do not mind highway and parking lot, choose front side room. Local specialty is shared balcony for entire floor.

What a beautiful hotel, staff were very attentive and location was really good Food was good in the restaurant and breakfast was really tasty. The staff were very obliging. Cycling was encouraged and bikes were for hire. A very good location and the canals were worth a visit

Can’t fault the hotel - with exception being two things. 1 - Laundry service. It shouldn’t take two days to get laundry back. 2 - Bartender …. You should employ at least one permanent bartender behind the bar. Many students working at the hotel who don’t know how to work the bar.

For the birthday of a 90 year old (with Alzheimer's disease) we had reserved lunch in a quiet place. They had indeed chosen a quiet spot and the table was decorated. So incredibly attentive, you feel very welcome as a guest. Everyone enjoyed the lunch, everything was very tasty. There was something for everyone. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Brand new hotel from the well-known Dutch chain VdV. The style is the same as the other hotels (developed more in width than in height, where possible). New and modern and well furnished room: very comfortable. Large spaces everywhere, even in the breakfast area (always rich). Excellent value for money.

A super large room, luxurious bathroom with bath and separate shower. Toilet in separate room. Very clean. Luxury toiletries. Please note, the room will not be cleaned during your stay, only upon request. The breakfast is good, plenty of choice in hot and cold. We had a nice stay.

Fantastic hotel! Beautiful spacious and clean room with balcony. Very extensive breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. There is just a relaxed atmosphere. Good parking and a short distance from the center of Leeuwarden. Pricey but definitely worth repeating.

We had a wellness loft. It was clean, luxurious and had a good sofa and a good bed. The bathroom was great with a double shower, a whirlpool and a sauna. The lobby looks good and the restaurant has a simple yet luxurious appearance. The dishes were excellent, but the portions of some dishes were a bit on the large side. The service was neat and correct. The standard breakfast was fine. For peace and quiet with a touch of luxury, you've come to the right place.

What a nice hotel! Spacious, clean room. Large bathroom with separate toilet. Quietly located 5 km from the center. Friendly and sufficient staff. No nuisance from other guests, mainly elderly people. Good breakfast and excellent parking. This hotel is listed among our favorites! Oh, I forgot about renting a boat: fantastic! The only thing I have to get used to is the shared balcony, but there was no one there except us :)

Really a very good hotel. Comfortable beds, luxurious rooms and very good breakfast facilities. Ample parking and friendly staff. The hotel is a bit far from the city and a car is really necessary. I will come here more often.

Nowadays van der Valk is no longer that cheap. But one does get a lot. We both had the schnitzel. And for around 24 euros you have a big boy on your plate. Enough garnish. There is a beer list and the liqueurs are loyal with the coffee. Service young but professionally friendly. Sanitary facilities super clean.

Already had 3 previous experiences with this van der Valk hotel. I slept here once with my partner and had my parents spend the night here twice (I recently moved to the area). Overall I can say that all three experiences were very positive. The rooms: beautiful Bathroom: super clean and large Breakfast: excellent! Accessibility: close to the highway.. far enough from the noise (not audible) and centrally located in fryslân.
