Bell Gate House

I booked this guest house expecting a cozy B&B experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. Despite being advertised as a bed and breakfast, there was no breakfast provided—an essential part of the B&B promise. I had reserved a double room, but upon arrival, I was given two single rooms on separate floors. This was bizarrely described as a “bonus,” though it felt more like a logistical headache than a perk. One of the rooms had malfunctioning facilities, and in the other, the sound of the toilet flushing echoed constantly, making it difficult to relax or sleep. While the towels were soft, they had a dingy grey tinge that made them feel less than clean. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to leave and certainly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine B&B experience.

A lovely room clean with a comfortable bed. Only problem was the shower was cold.

Room was to cold no any facility like heater and shower was broken fix on too hot water will never gonna book that again

I made a booking and then later on when I got there he said I don’t have a room he never had of trip.com now struggling to get a refund for the place i never stayed on

My nephew and I had to relocate our hotel from the Premier at the last minute due to a change in the date of the Leicester City game, so we booked into the Bell Gate House. Having seen some reviews, we weren't expecting a great deal, just somewhere to sleep. However, despite the unassuming entrance in a perhaps slightly rundown area of town, we were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was very clean and smart, even included (a very slightly bashed) fridge, which we didn't use. We were told by the very friendly manager (owner?) that the beds and mattresses in our room were brand new - and they were the most comfortable beds we have slept on in a hotel for a long while. The only fault in our room was the hose to the shower was a bit leaky, but you are getting wet in the shower anyway so that didn't matter! And yes, the thread on the stair carpet wa a bit bare - but very clean. It was a bit noisy - but no more than some other places. We knew that breakfast wasn't included. For the price, this is the best value hotel in Leicester!

No remote for the television. Not really a problem this time as I didn’t want the tv on.

Hotel advertised as 24h reception. I arrived after midnight and after waiting for 10min outside someone came to open the door. Proceeded to complain that they were closed. Wanted to charge me £10 for the late check in. When I refused I was called a (profanity) and handed the key in furry. Terrible experience.
