Hotel la Posada Regia

Leon City Center
We had planned to stay with our pet the weekend that appeared rainy and unpleasant with a storm warning and finally we decided not to go mainly because of how uncomfortable and annoying the rain is for our little dog. Even though we notified them on the same day as our scheduled arrival, they were very kind and understood the circumstance and since they were able to occupy our room with other clients, they did not charge us the amount of the room, thus minimizing the disappoin**ent of not having been able to visit León. 100% friendliness at all times. On the other hand, at the time of the reservation they were already very efficient in offering us the parking reservation and the online check-in. It will definitely be our accommodation when we can go.

The hotel is very comfortable for its location, from which you can easily reach the centre walking distance and offers parking facilities nearby at good conditions. It is a structure that has been restructured (see, for example, in the shower), but which also has many elements that indicate the signs of time: old doors and many destroyed doors, very noisy air conditioning. The most negative note was breakfast: scarce, managed by a person who was virtually inexistent, who has been working all the time for other things than for customers, in a room where there was completely lack of the possibility of having towels, additional glasses. In general acceptable for the price quality ratio.

The hotel has been converted from an old convent adjacent to the basilica and set around a courtyard with a fountain. It is an extremely attractive setting and one can park in the hotel’s adjacent area. However there I’m afraid the praise stops. At €212 per night b&b this is twice the average which we have paid for the last six hotels all of which had better equipped bedrooms. Our ‘superior’ double room was equipped with two paper mugs and no glasses. We asked for glasses at reception (correct but frosty) and were told that all rooms were like this as it was easier to clean! The bathroom had no shelves or storage. Bathrobes – forget it! No electric socket at the level of the desk. A single armchair when there was plenty of room for two. Breakfast adequate, but charmless staff. At €112 for b&b this would have been fine but at €212 the place is living off its location rather than hospitality.

LocTion is fine. Sadly the hotel was not really up to a 3 star standard. Room was small, beds comfy enough but very noisy with squeaks every time you moved. Room didnt look like picture advertised. Out of window was a large extraction flume that covered any view of reat hotel. Generally the room was noisy from outside passers-by and cleaners in the am. The hotel is part of the nest door hostel so not sure if we were put in that sort of room or they all are like this. I have stayed in better hostel rooms. Laundry service not provided but you can use the hostels machines. Room was generally tired with fixtures around light switches hanging off and yellow water stains in bath tub.
