My Place Hotel-Council Bluffs/Omaha East, IA

Great hotel for long stays. Not as clean as I would have liked. Built up dust on the bathroom vent and around light switches, etc. The space, table, and kitchenette were great for traveling with kids.

Traveling with a pet and a family. Love that the room was clean and easy check in.

This hotel was well located for our visit.and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and roomy with kitchenette (full size refrigerator with ice maker) and table with chairs. And for once the lighting in the room was actually good, not some idea of dim mood lighting.

We had a great stay! Everything was clean and well-kept.

Not a big writer of reviews, but this place was rough. And I travel a lot. Having driven cross country for a fundraising event, I needed to be all suited up and at the venue by 4 pm. I called 5 hours early and explained if I could check in even a little early that would be helpful. I was told, maybe, but no earlier than 2:30 (3 is check in). Better than nothing. But, when I arrived at 2:30, I was told 'no way.' After sitting for 30 minutes, I asked if I could check in and was greeted with an annoying, 'I guess so.' Granted, I think there was only one desk attendant and a skeleton crew of custodial, but the attitude was unwelcome. Once I got into the room it was noticeably damp and humid. I turned on the wall unit and there was only cool/heat--no fan! So, I heated the room up and it only got more damp as a result. No option on the actual unit to adjust this either (?). Off to take a shower and there was no hot water...and the handle spun indefinitely with no stopping point. After a cold shower, I was off to iron my dress shirt and the ironing board collapsed about 4 times before I called and requested another. About 20 minutes later another arrived. After all of this, I ended up being about 15 minutes late for the sound check of the event (I was a guest panelist), so that wasn't ideal. Fast forward to bedtime and (in addition to a damp room), sleep was constantly interrupted by the sounds of vehicles whizzing by my window. There's more, but this place is a HARD PASS.

Very helpful front desk staff. She was very helpful at sharing possible local activities.
