Room was just about ok for the money charged....very dated though, shower cramped and black mould around the ceiling. TV....hahahaha I have a bigger pc monitor. The small screen is so far away from the bed you need binoculars to see it. Strong fishy smell in the accomodation lobby. WiFi was good so fair play for that. Bar staff (lady) miserable with us but real chippy when local lads came in, can only assume they don't really want visitors. Didn't change when we revisited the bar through the evening and the staff had changed to a fella who managed to be even more of a misogg. Beer was spot on but the food.....oh my goodness it is so poor. The dining area was like something from Fawlty towers or maybe a care home....needs some modernisation on the decorating front. The menu is just too busy, cut down what you sell and maybe your quality will go up.....but you will need to get rid of the school cook to fully improve the food. Beer beef casserole was bland beyond belief. Fishcakes cold in the middle and lacking fish, the bits of mozzarella were solid not melted. Cod and chips tasted like it was precooked frozen fare. Chips were ok though. But as the food was so bad on the first night we went on the second night to Aygarth falls restaurant for a fantastic Sunday roast (highly recommended) Breakfast at the F&H.....why do the ladies of a group only get 2 rashers yet the fellas get 3, maybe it's some weird local custom or equality just has reached you yet. Breakfast was passed off as a full English yet was missing the staples of mushrooms and beans and what you do get is a child size portion...not ideal when your off out walking all day. I would however like to congratulate the young serving staff....they were polite and attentive...well done ladies. All in all if you do get to this review ...take my advice...I would look elsewhere
