Our room was Askrigg, on the first floor. After we were shown too our room we realised we couldnt lock the door from the inside, which even though the door cant be opened without a key, we do prefer to be able to lock the door when inside the room. Then we discovered there wasnt a remote for the TV, or any information re wifi code or what to do in the event of a fire etc. We made two trips down to the reception before this was resolved with a spare remote and us taking a photo of the wifi code which was on the wall downstairs. The room was quite cool as the radiator wasnt working. Instead, there was an oil filled plug in radiator a quarter of the radiator size, really it needed two to make any impact on the temperature in the room. Then we discovered that the water in the shower wouldnt go any hotter than warm. We ran the water for a while but it still didnt become any hotter. The amenities in this room were very disappointing. Perhaps whoever cleaned the room should have noticed what was missing and let management know 🤷🏻‍♀️ We are not ones to complain but it was very frustrating not to be able to settle down for a couple of hours because of these issues The room itself was fine and the bed was very comfortable.
