Hotel Indigo LIJIANG ANCIENT TOWN by IHG

There was construction near my room, so they kindly upgraded me to a suite for free to ensure a better stay. Every day, they checked in to see if I needed any help or service, and I'm especially grateful to Byron, King, and David for their exceptional service. My stay was fantastic. The hotel is small and quiet, and you can easily access the old town right outside. For breakfast, you have the option of dining at either the Indigo or the InterContinental. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Lijiang.

Before my trip, I did a lot of research and was torn between Indigo and InterContinental Lijiang. In the end, staying at Indigo turned out to be the best decision! ✌️ The hotel is really unique, with all two-story courtyard rooms. The decor is entirely in the style of the Tea Horse Road, from the layout of the courtyards to the rooms, the decorations, the water features, and the greenery – every detail shows the designer's thoughtfulness and professionalism. For someone used to concrete jungles, it's a visual delight and very relaxing here. I even saw a cute little cat in the courtyard! The hotel's animal-friendly policy is a big plus 💗. Hope to see you again next time! The rooms are quite spacious, and the windows can be fully opened, which I absolutely love as it's very airy (with screens for mosquito protection). The sofa is right by the window, with blue skies, white clouds, and lush green trees outside. Brewing a pot of tea there is incredibly pleasant~ Speakers and capsule coffee machines are all available, and the amenities are comprehensive. For breakfast, you can either have it at the hotel or enjoy the buffet breakfast at InterContinental. Our guest relations manager, Patrick Lucian, was incredibly attentive, like an invisible personal butler, always ready to help! 😆 He contacted us by phone before check-in, upgraded our room type upon arrival, and arranged room 724 for us. This was special because it's the only second-floor room with a terrace, perfect for enjoying tea on the terrace 🍵 and convenient for my husband to smoke without disturbing anyone – absolutely brilliant! He also granted us a late check-out. Any request, big or small, a quick WeChat message was all it took. From makeup wipes and bath liners to arranging a car to the airport, we didn't have to worry about a thing. All the staff we met here were so warm and thoughtful; the male staff at the front desk were also very enthusiastic ❤️🔥 and considerate. The complimentary travel photoshoot also exceeded our expectations; the photos turned out beautifully! Just a heads-up, any extra photos beyond the complimentary ones are at your own expense, so it's easy to go over budget! 😂 The farewell gift upon check-out was also perfectly to my liking! Indigo's little horse 🐎, an eco-bag, and other gifts – the guest relations manager really understood me! 🫰 Nice. My trip to Lijiang was very relaxing and enjoyable! 🥳
