I booked this hotel since hotels in center of town seemed to have relatively higher prices for our dates, probably due to the literature festival occurring in Lillehammer. We were really happy with our choice. Tidy rooms and pleasant, airy atmosphere. Abundance of common areas with comfortable, unique seating and some high top tables, and an outdoor deck that could be used at breakfast as well. I booked a double hotel room and we were assigned a family room upon arrival; no difference in price. Spacious room with a sitting area (sleeper sofa, upholstered chair, small kitchen table and 4 chairs, big countertop) separated from bedroom by a curtain. Spacious bathroom as well. Everything was very clean throughout the hotel. Comfortable mattress; windows opened for fresh air; room darkening curtains. Breakfast was a wide variety of meats, cheeses, breads, yogurt and muesli, etc., eggs. Hiking trails and pretty park on river right next to hotel. 15-20 minute downhill walk along a walking path to center of town with shopping and restaurants. 20 or so minute uphill walk to the Olympic ski jumping area, which is open for walking to top of the jumps. Walk through woods or along road back downhill. A hotel that has athletes staying for training, groups for various events, and just tourists.
