English: I was shocked by my recent experience at the Castello di Limatola hotel. The entire structure is a blatant deception, especially considering the category it attributes to itself. The room was in deplorable conditions, even though it was clean for the hotel staff: a stained carpet, a bathroom that gave off a nauseating sewer smell and a shower with a hole in the wall and covered in mold. The sink leaked continuously, flooding the floor. Broken walls. I even had to live with cockroaches. The cleanliness was non-existent: sheets never changed, floor never vacuumed. The Normanni room was not cleaned during my stay! Breakfast was a joke: stale and dry croissants, a tart that seemed to have come straight from a supermarket counter. The most incredible thing is the arrogance of the staff at the reception who, with a fake smile, boasted about the "excellent" conditions of the hotel. The reality is quite different: the building is dilapidated, the common areas are sad and, in case of rain, the outside courtyard becomes a dangerous skating rink, absolutely inaccessible to the elderly or those with mobility difficulties. I tried the "gourmet" dinner, which was not bad, but at 60 euros per person I expected much more. For that amount, in other countries, they organize a wedding! It is clear that the managers of this hotel have no idea what it means to offer a quality 4-star service. But these things in Italy seem normal. Maybe, with a little good will, they could aspire to two stars, but not more. I strongly advise against this place to anyone. It is a real shame that in Italy you do not know what 4 or 5 stars mean. Anyone who writes a good review of this hotel has obviously never left the village. I have traveled all over Europe and even in some countries in America and I can say that in Italy you do not know what it means to hold a tourist dear!
