We’re a family of four and stayed here two nights during our summer holiday travelling across the country. Our only regret is that we should have stayed longer. This place is tremendous - proper luxury living. We stayed in the brilliant Canopy room which was plenty big enough for the four of us, had its own treetop pool and canopy bridge. Amazing. The facilities are great - great pool, fantastic food and service quality top notch. What sets this apart was the brilliant white water rafting into the lodge and also on the way out. Added to that was zip lining and canyoning - a fabulous adventure each day. The staff were consistently first rate - Eric, Dani, Luis et al were fabulous.

I loved this place so much I visited twice in one month. The first visit I went with my girl friends and we did the activities around the lodge. All the guides were amazing. Once I returned home, I missed the peacefulness I found there. Almost immediately, I booked a week for myself. This was the first time going out of the country by myself, I did not worry because I knew I would be safe. I requested Victor as my driver for my whole stay because he was alway very professional with me. Never once did I feel like he would not take care of me or cross the line. I do not speak Spanish so anytime we went somewhere he always handled everything. This trip I decided to not do the activities at the lodge but to adventure around Costa Rica and I am so glad I did. I feel like I got to experience a lot of the culture of the Costa Rican people, and I fell in love with the country! I could not have been more grateful for the service I received from the whole staff at the lodge highly recommend! I will return.

I booked two rooms for two nights through the ******* website to stay there in early July so we could raft into the Lodge. Shortly after booking I received an email saying if you want to raft into the hotel then you need to stay in a San Jose Hotel the night before for a 6am pickup the next morning. Well, this made it so I would have to add an extra night to my vacation if I wanted to raft into lodge which I could not do. I then spoke to Greivin Alvarez about cancelling one night because the ******* site has no language re this and it is very difficult to find this language on the Pacuare Lodge website. Initially he shared same concern but he then quickly became more concerned about their no refund policy and collecting cancellation money. I am sure it is a great place to stay but this is a little bit of a money trap if you truly want to raft into the hotel. Rafting out only does not give you true Pacuare experience either. I hope I can save others money by knowing this in advance.

It's a fantastic place to stay; nothing is too much bother for them. You have to raft in and out - it was such an amazing experience. Brilliant guides to have fun with who enjoy and want to share their knowledge of Costa Rica and its wildlife - Guides are local, and you can feel they enjoy their work and seem to be looked after by the company - they are truly involved with the lodge and not just employees. Free activities (zip lining, repelling,g night walks, hikes to waterfalls, white water rafting etc. and all food included. Well worth the money. Great for children.

We went to Pacquare Lodge with our “kids” aged 16, 18 and 20. It was a bit above our budget, a bit of a treat, so our expectations were high. We weren’t disappointed, we were rafted in by Alex, and rafted out by Danny M, who both created a fun and relaxed, but very “safe” vibe. The rafting was exhilarating, and not to be missed. A big Thankyou to Luis and the guides in the safety canoes. Pacquare itself is a gem. The lodge and rooms are exceptional, as is the food! The staff and guides cannot do enough to help, and without exception are knowledgable, helful, fun, but very focused on safety. We zip lined, canyoned, hiked to the local village, and did the evening wildlife walk. All the activities were fun, well thought out, and undertaken by guides who were passionate about conservationism, Pacquare and Costa Rica. Pacquare is a gem - it’s not cheap but it is great value for money. If you come to Costa Rica without going to Pacquare you are missing out!

Pacuare Lodge is nothing short of magical. My 8yr old, husband and I stayed for 5 nights and had a very hard time leaving. This is an elegant, sophisticated place to stay that lives its values. You can understand what Pura Vida means when you stay here. Our activity guides, in addition to being safe and knowledgeable, were incredibly kind and warm with my son. From letting him join them on their breaks, to asking him to name a new baby boa constrictor who was hanging around, they made us all feel like part of a very special community. The spa was off the charts. Kattia gave such an amazing massage I made my husband get one and I got two. I live in NYC and have access to wonderful spa services and Kattia was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had. The kitchen was completely flexible with us, preparing things our 8 yr old would enjoy and accommodating our travel schedule even when the kitchen was closed. I thought the Costa Rican dishes in particular were outstanding. I’ve already told my parents (who lived in Costa Rica for 6 years) to go, and I fully intend to return. Five stars - cheers to the first hotel that inspired me to write a review.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful and enthusiastic and knowledgeable. An amazing experience. Two rafting trips, canyoning, zip line canopy tours. Everything was included even the food which made it actually great value. All the staff were great but an especial shout out to Eric, Pino, Joshua and Susanna. Thank you everyone.
