Best Hotels near Rossio Square, Lisbon

Hotel is located very close to the Rossio Train Station. We stayed for 4 nights and it was a good stay. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and even steps from the hotels door. Very convenient. The Metro (Subway) was less than a 1 minute walk although we did not use it. Room was basic but very clean. Housekeeping staff did a wonderful job. Front desk was always attended and very helpful and pleasant as well. Will stay here again.

I booked this hotel before, but this time I changed the itinerary because of a temporary event, so I couldn't cancel it. Fortunately, I bought insurance before, and I could reimburse a part of it, which reduced most of the losses.

We booked a room for few days in this very central location in Lisbon – obviously close to the famous Lift, and within walking distance of many interesting places. The hotel is newly renovated, and we had an upgrade to the new Lift Apartments. It could be used for a large family or even two families and has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The TV had many channels, including English speaking and free access to for instance Netflix. And by the way, super wi-fi. The breakfast was delicious. We experienced service throughout the hotel, just what you would expect and even more. We had a friendly and informative welcome mail before arrival, friendly service at the reception, generous staff for breakfast and again friendly cleaning staff. The last day we received a handwritten personal greeting from the staff – a small gesture, however, much appreciated.

This is our second time at Rossio Hostel - we thought it the best hostel we'd ever stayed at in 2019, and now it is even better. Not enough words to tell you everything great about it - though if we boil it down to two words it would be THE PEOPLE who work there are what makes it amazing. Sunday Fado night is not to be missed - when we were there Rossio brought in Jessica Fernandez, who is an amazing singer and she was backed by two highly skilled guitar players - one on classical guitar and one on the Portuguese guitar. Pizza night on Wednesday also included a cover band that was a lot of fun. Aside from all this Rossio Hostel is in a fantastic old building from the late 1700s/early 1800s (post-earthquake) - lots of character. Rossio sits right on Rossio Square - a very central part of Lisbon with the metro and trains right outside your doot. Now, as to what makes Rossio Hostel really stand out - well, that is the people. A big thank you, and kudos, to the staff at Rossio: Madalena, Leavis (hope I'm spelling your nake right my friend), Rita, Paula, Mackayla (also hoping I get your name right), Victoria and especially Elsa who cooked up amazing scrambled eggs and crepes Monday to Friday. I didn't catch the name of the weekend cook - also a big thank you to you and the young lady helping you on the weekend. There are other staff that I didn't have a chance to get their names. The staff at Rossio Hostel make you feel like you are at home - my partner and I also felt like we were part of their family for the six days we were there. The big downside to Rossio Hostel is when you have to leave - the staff make it really hard to leave, because they make you feel so welcome and at home. We've been there twice and we will absolutely be back. If there were a way to give a rating higher than 10 we would certainly do it. Thanks again to everyone at Rossio Hostel for making our trip so special and memorable. The room is really nice... it's clean and tidy and it's like an apartment. It has tableware, a hot water kettle, and even pots and pans... you can cook! But if you are a girl, I don’t recommend booking this place! First of all, the location is in an alley next to the square. When you get out of the subway entrance, you have to carry a suitcase and climb a lot of steps. Even though some of the corners are really dark and emm... the smell of urine... there is no front desk, only a machine for self-service check-in. , don’t book if you can’t speak English at all! !

This hotel is the most cost-effective hotel I have ever stayed in~ It's great The actual room looks better than the photos advertised. There are also garbage sorting, jewelry boxes, and Chinese people drink hot water. Many overseas hotels do not have kettles. This hotel has specially prepared kettles and usb ports. If someone does not have a European standard adapter , you can also charge it directly. The most important thing is that the room is very clean and the fragrance is wafting. What made me exceed my expectations is that there is a sliding door on the balcony. There is no light and sound when I pull it. I want to go home and renovate my house

Comfortable, clean and well run. The staff were helpful in clarifying travel issues such as the intermittent rail strike. Our room was good but the lift, although claiming to fit 4 people, is really big enough only for 2 and I think a sizeable hotel. should have more. On the plus side you can get up almost as early or late as you like, because the buffet breakfast is served from 6.30 a.m. to midday. And the dawn chorus of twittering birds outside the window is nice if you like that sort of thing. The hotel is not as central as its title implies and in the area there's a shortage of evening entertainment in the way of bars. A couple of good restaurants, the Churrascaria and the Hamro Ghar (Nepalese, would you believe!) serve good food and beer however.

After reading the negative reviews, I decided it was worth reporting on our stay here. We were attending Web Summit at the Altice Arena and chose the VIP Executive Art's (sic) because it was a short walk from one end of the venue. Our room faced the street and was pretty spacious and comfortable, with no noise issues whatsoever; our only complaint was that the mini-fridge didn't work. We enjoyed the breakfast included with our rate, which was quite tasty and offered dozens of items, including interesting ones such as coconut brioche. The staff and elevators were fine, and we ate at two restaurants in the next block and enjoyed them both. And getting back to the airport by walking to Oriente station was very easy. Side note: I'm a comics fan and was startled and pleased that our room had a view of the giant superhero mural outside the hotel. If you're visiting Lisbon as a tourist, you'd do better to stay in a quainter and more atmospheric part of town. But for our needs, we were pleased with the experience we got at this hotel.

We got a private room there cause we wanted our own space. Looked decent in the photos. When we arrived the room was quite dirty. Dirt on the walls, toothpaste around the sink and the towels we got had brown stains in it. We did not experience the privateness of our room because the bedroom door has a 2cm gap underneath it so all the stamps on the wooden floor and all the people coming and going (which was alot) along with the maintenace room next door felt like they were in our room. Alot of other smaller things like malfunction noises in the ventilation and very poor quality in the bed. “Breakfast included” was white bread, jam and coffee. BIGGEST PROBLEM is that the bathroom has alot of black mold in it. For example all around the shower and the shower glass and around the sink. After two nights we contacted the staff and told them about all these things listed above and we wanted to move out of that room and go somewhere else. So they told us that I had to send an email which would be forwarded to their supervisor, which I did. I checked upon them multiple times with calls, emails and direct conversation. Their supervisor, who was not there, would contact me which he never did. I am well aware this is not a 5 star accomodation but this is not ok in any accomodation that you pay for. I’ve been all around the world staying in allkinds of accomodations but this was my worst experience. Not only because of the room situation but because of the staffmembers who didnt even try to make things better by for example clean the room, offer us new towels offer us new bedroom. We paid 156€/night there. When the client points out things that are poor and could easily be fixed, just fix it and at least try to make them happy. WOT Lisbon Patio … Do better !

First, very close to airport, which makes it cheap to taxi or Uber. Hotel is in the business district so it’s fairly quiet at night, except for hearing the train, which I kind of like. Rooms are old fashioned, and on the smaller side. Staff was very friendly. Lobby is nice and bright. We liked having a nice bar and restaurant on premises. Breakfast is nice, but it’s a mad house in the mornings. This hotel has four small elevators, which rude guests try to force themselves onto with luggage when they’re already full. During our stay, one of the main, bigger elevators remained broken. Since we were on the 9th floor, we had to wait longer to go up or down. I highly recommend you request a room no higher than the 2nd floor if you don’t want to wait. Wi-Fi here is terrible. Our phones would not stay connected and trying to do anything online was beyond frustrating. We very much liked the location. Close to the metro, close to a grocery store, lots of coffee shops in close proximity. Very easy to get to downtown Lisbon. If we were to Lisbon, we would definitely consider staying here again, however I would search for a good deal on a more up to date hotel closer to city center if you don’t want to take multiple train stops.
