This hostel is under different management than what many reviewers have previously written about. The big drooly dog is gone, staff were helpful, and the room clean and comfortable.
We were stuck in Yajiang without transport to Litang, and the hostel owner sent a car from Litang to pick us up on short notice. In many other small things they were helpful.
Location is off the main tourist *****, which we liked. There is construction opposite so keep that in mind if you like to sleep in - with two small children who were quite happy watching “construction TV” we didn’t mind.
Clothes washing facilities were great and we were able to hang everything out in the sun afterward. Very useful given we are cycle touring and don’t have many clothes!
Ronin gave us each a small hand-made gift on departure, which our kids loved. He and his staff made us feel welcomed and cared for. They are slowly fixing up some things clearly left in a poor state (like the bar building) but with COVID still affecting tourism in China I guess they need to prioritise. We had a great stay and highly recommend this hostel - thanks Ronin and team!

The room is also very clean. The windows are facing the fire detachment. The sense of security is full. I have stayed in Litang three times. This is the best. Come and live here next year! A small suggestion, add a glass wall between the toilet and the shower, to separate dry and wet, TOTO toilet is still quite expensive, it is a pity to break it. The bathroom can also add a shelf that can dry clothes. Most of the clothes will still be washed when you come out to play. There is a shelf, which is much more convenient.

Facilities: The hotel has complete facilities and sufficient oxygen. I had some altitude sickness after arriving at the hotel, but luckily I was able to breathe oxygen.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy, cleaned very thoroughly.

The rooms are in the style of a business hotel, relatively modern and clean. It is refreshing. The room has floor heating and oxygen (at higher altitudes, it is safer to choose a room with oxygen, and it releases oxygen diffusely). There is a rooftop platform on the seventh floor of the hotel, and you can see Litang city. Although there is no air conditioning, the floor heating is really hot. There is no view of the sky outside the room window, so I can watch the stars directly in the room at night. Upgraded to an oxygen room. The room is clean and spacious, and the bathroom facilities are also good. Because of the high reflex, I didn't take a shower and I don't know the water temperature. The breakfast is simple, but relatively suitable for high altitude sickness. There is also a Tibetan breakfast, which is generally recommended.

The hotel environment is very good. You must stay in the Cordyceps Hotel when you come to the Cordyceps hometown. The room is clean and sanitary, the breakfast is very rich and tastes good. It is said that you must not stay overnight here when you come to Litang for the first time to the plateau, but it is actually OK. There is oxygen supply and there is no major discomfort. I got up at six in the morning and looked at the starry sky in the hotel dam. I haven't seen so many stars for a long time. It's comfortable.

HHenrionDourcyThis is a very pleasant homestay and I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Litang. Tsering is a most welcoming host. She is bilingual Chinese-Tibetan and she was born here. She is warm-hearted, bubbly and always wants you to have a great stay in Litang. She helped me get to the horse races on time, and gave me lots of advice on how to spend my time here. She prepares breakfast in the morning (either Chinese or *******, you can choose). Also, I had ran out of clean clothes and she offered to wash my clothes in her washing machine and handled all the drying and everything, and even delivered it to my door! I could not believe it. She is a great and kind person, quite funny as well.
The amenities are new, everything is clean spic and span. The location is within a walking distance of the city centre. Honestly, what do you want more, at such a reasonable price?

GGuest UserI stayed in the Luoci Suite, which was very distinctive. It was a renovation of a local ******* house. The first floor was a museum, and the second floor was the room. The living environment was very good. What impressed me most was that the ******* owner of the house was very welcoming. He cooked hot pot with us in the suite at night, invited us to drink butter tea, and took us to visit their own hut the next morning. He invited us to have ******* breakfast and taught us how to eat tsampa. If you go there during the summer vacation, you can meet their daughter, who is on summer vacation. She is very generous and a very warm and lovely ******* girl.

AAnonymous UserIt should be a newly built hotel, and the third floor is still being renovated, but work will stop at 6 o'clock on time, which will not affect the rest. The man at the front desk should be the boss's father. He is very nice and enthusiastic. Whenever he returns to the hotel, he will go to the parking lot. Helped me with the direction, and the overall stay was very comfortable. Finally, I would like to make two small suggestions: 1. You can install a rack or coat hook in the bathroom, which can at least hang bath towels and underwear; 2. There is a back odor in the wash basin sewer. It is more obvious when the temperature is high and can be dealt with later.

GGuest UserThe altitude of Litang is really prohibitive, but this is the city of the sky, it is worth your time to overcome all difficulties to get here! When I booked this room, I saw that the room provided oxygen, so I didn't hesitate to choose Shambhala. The location is very good to find, just on the edge of the national road, diagonally opposite Hanting, but the signboards of the Shambhala Hotel are not bright enough, not you can see it at a glance, the signboard is not obvious and it is easy to miss. Hotel environment can be, parking is convenient, there is a yak beef soup pot at the door, you must eat yak soup pot in this place to make your oxygen deficiency quickly recover! The front desk service is very good, the room is hygienic, the facilities are complete, the oxygen supply machine is centralized and open, and it is not easy to do it yourself. Overall, it is still quite OK, will stay again next time!

This is a real ‘homestay’, with a large common space for people to gather (see the picture), super friendly service from everyone working here, beautifully decorated rooms with high quality sanitary and amenities, and an oxygen machine in every room (useful at an altitude of 4000 meters), …
We wanted to go from from Litang to Shangrila and the owner helped us fetch a ride - highly appreciated!
