Well, what a find this was! We were part of a group of friends, 4 couples in total and we had booked 4 studios for the bank holiday weekend. Only about 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Lime Street and an easy to walk into town. We arrived earlier than the 3pm Check In, to be greeted by Damien on reception who was super helpful and advised us our rooms were available already. The rooms were spotlessly clean with a fully equipped kitchenette, fridge etc and supplies of tea/coffee etc. Rooms were serviced daily and service staff very friendly. Ideal location and great value for money. We ate in the Cavern Club Restaurant before seeing the Cavern Club Beatles, fun night. We also went to Mowgli on Water Street and had a fantastic meal there on one of the other nights.

Checked out this morning as I had an appointment at Liverpool Hospital, beds were very comfy and the Hotel was very welcoming, lovely fish aquarium in the lobby which was very fitting with the theme. Breakfast was great with very lovely food and lovely wait staff, in particular a lovely tall brown haired girl, I forgot to ask her name, stood and had a conversation with me then gave me directions to the hotel and offered to call my taxi for me. Would recommend to any weary travellers looking for a good nights sleep and a lovely cooked breakfast.

You should definitely start your day with a breakfast in the very uniquely furnished Restaurant/Bar. You'll be greeted by the most lovely Denise, who will fulfill your every wish. This is an old grand hotel. Great location an easy walk to many popular destinations. The room is huge with high ceilings and the bed was comfortable. Please know that this hotel is huge and you literally have to walk around the halls to find an elevator. The furniture in the rooms needs some updating and the flooring in front of the elevators on each floor desperately needs renovation but this property overall is a good value.

We previously stayed here a few times before Covid and were so happy to return. We really like this hotel and the lovely friendly staff who always make the stay special. Our king room was spotless, spacious and comfortable and nice and warm. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and we also ate at the hotel in the evening. A good menu, reasonably priced and the meals went down very well. We love the bar, dining room on the second floor where we could sit and watch the world go by! We look forward to returning.

Never been to prison but pretty sure this is worse. Zero space, weird smell, plug sockets that didn’t work & not safe as the fronts came off. Sink was full of water, shower leaked and they have better quality loo roll in junior schools. Speaking of that, nothing better than looking at your partner through frosted glass as they use the toilet, even better cause you can here and smell everything!!! If you forget your alarm clock, don’t stress as the other inmates will either keep you up all night or make sure you’re up by smashing their doors shut. I genuinely stayed in a squat in NY years ago and it was better than this. We booked for 2 nights and left after 1 and paid £165 for the night across the road which was a palace! My fault for being tight but I’ve honestly had more enjoyable trips to the dentist than Easy hotel. Even their planes are better Oh yeah and the bed was awful too and slanted!! I’d sleep on the street before I stayed there again!

Dora the bartender is by far and away the best bar staff I have ever met. She deserves the world and I would come back in a heartbeat for her. The room is beautiful and the reception staff were effective and very efficient. A perfect place for a hotel, right on the Albert Docks next to everywhere we wanted to be.

Hotel not far from Mersey bridge which has a toll to pay online. Retail park across from hotel mainly supermarkets and fast food. Hotel is very worn, modern tv that’s all, bathroom was grubby, mold on sealant around bath and again on bathroom ceiling. Toilet seat was loose and no bath mat provided. Was only provided with one towel and one hand towel, blonde, woman on reception was funny with me when requested a second towel. The same receptionist refused to borrow me a pen and later when I enquired about a late checkout, stated it was not possible due to not enough cleaning staff, will stay at another hotel if visit area again, she was very off putting as was the mold, paid £80+ for a week rate don’t expect poor service, dirty facilities and attitude from staff.

The stay was on my way to Manchester airport.
The heater in my first room was not working, but they moved me to another room
All was OK with the 2nd room, until I went to use the shower. The head was not working, in as much as it was like using a tap.
But overall a great place to stay.
I would recommend it, despite the 2 minor issues.
Excellent

Outstanding
YYUANLONGTraditional English breakfast has grilled sausages, potato cakes, etc. The location is a bit off the beach but it doesn't matter if you hit Uber. The parking lot is at the door. The outside of the hotel looks average. After entering, the lobby is very design. There is a bar on the first floor, and there is a small river next to the bar.
GGiani DeClean hotel and accessible to centre. If you’re going to book for Rooftop make sure it’s suite room as the double room wasn’t that nice view in the balcony. Friendly staff in the breakfast area and to the receptionist who assist us 10th July 2024 (Wednesday) at 15:00 he’s approachable and accommodating I forgot his name he has tattoo. But a bit disappointed. Only continental breakfast you can have it if you’re in a hurry. But for hot breakfast you need to order in the menu and that’s the time they prepare it and serve for you I suggest it’s better everything is ready and hotel guest will just get it by themselves. Second one the receptionist who’s on shift at 11th July 2024 at 12:30 in the afternoon wasn’t that nice. it’s 2 ladies receptionist I pass the key on her and she just said thank you. The other lady just look at us without saying Hello. Front-desk receptionist should be accommodating. not even bother to ask us how’s our stay which should be standard to all Hotel service staff. Receptionist are the front one who promote your Business it’s just my opinion Halyard so I think it’s better to inform them.
GGuest UserLocation couldn't be better. Hotel is basic but serviceable, but I wish they had spent a little more on interiors for the beautiful building and interiors. You are in a world-heritage site but the room furnishings are basic roadside motel quality. It was particularly funny that the room itself was very large - with a basic double bed perched in one corner - there as room for a super king, which would look better and be nicer and only cost a tiny bit more. Bathroom was basic but fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lifts are small and slow, but I suspect that's a limitation of the space available and rules about listed buildings. But you stay here for the location and we were very pleased with that. TIP - don't bother parking at Liverpool ONE which is a hike away. Pay and display parking right at Albert Dock is essentially the same price and way more convenient
GGuest UserAll ok except assigned a disabled room for no,reason. All bathroom fittings low level to accommodate wheelchair users which were difficult to use if not in wheelchair also the water tap for showere was very stiff and virtually impossible to turn, off when wet. Room service food very limited due nil chef. Parking worked well but was an extra cost I wasn’t expecting till just before arrival.
GGuest UserGreat centrally located city hotel. Clean, modern and friendly /helpful staff. I received a lovely welcome message from the General Manager and Operations Manager as were were part of the Wedding Group. There was a nice touch as we received a mini bottle of Liverpool Gin to drink or to have as a takeaway souvenir. Breakfast was ok except the coffee machine broke down. Luckily we could get a coffee from the bar. Some feedback - it would be good if the hotel could invest in a proper Italian barista coffee machine as some of the guests do not like Nescafé type coffee! A proper coffee with coffee beans and made at the time is much appreciated !
汪汪The staff are very enthusiastic and feel that Liverpool's service industry is just so good. Outside restaurants, sightseeing buses, museums and other staff are particularly enthusiastic. This hotel pays for breakfast by yourself. Guests staying in the hotel will get a 20% discount, 8 pounds. It is the first time for a child to eat English breakfast, which is very novel and leaves a good impression. The room in this hotel is very big. I have four people with one bed per person. The room is very big, except for the bed.
KKennedy83Firstly the bad points-
*The Carpark was full of old furniture from the hotel and empty beer barrier preventing you getting parked,
*The hotel has turned into more of a party venue hotel rather than the beautiful hotel it was when I last came with my daughter 2018.
*tap in the kitchen area in our room only let out hot water and unfortunately the room stunk of what I could only describe as a sewerage smell? Whether the drains needed maintenance I’m not sure but I I just sprayed some deodorant around to help make it not smell quite as bad because I was so tired I didnt want to have to swap rooms.
*There was also no phone to call reception which I found strange and the remote for the tv was missing the back of it.
I put all this bad points down to the fact that when I previously came it was owned by someone who really cared about the maintenance and reputation of the hotel but now I’ve found it’s since been sold it seems the new owner isn’t as bothered and all what the shankley represented before eg, maintenance, luxury, football themed has kind of turned more into a tacky themed hotel and doesn’t feel classy anymore. I’d probably not stay here again as it’s not the same as it was and just the whole feel of hand hotel is different. It’s not the best if you have come with kids as there’s lots of drunken guests in the hotel and it’s noisey but thank goodness it’s a large hotel as you don’t hear the noise from downstairs. We were on level 3.
Our room was lovely and big with a large double bed and 2 twins pushed together, a kitchen area with tea bags and coffee (no biscuits but that didn’t bother us as we had snacks with us
The upsides were-
*Staff were pleasant,
*breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly as for,
*hotel was mainly quiet on the 3rd floor, room was on the whole clean and had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board with a safe.
* . The bathroom was lovely especially the bath as it was a jacuzzi with a waterfall shower. Everything was clean from what I could see.
GGuest UserCity Studios, Rodney Street, is an excellent location in Liverpool - easily accessible for cultural and city attractions. The system for gaining access to the property worked well, in that the access codes came in good time and were fairly easy to use. The studio was lovely and warm, comfortable and clean, with good kitchen facilities. The only thing wrong was that the shower didn't work, although there was plenty of hot water. As we were only staying one night, we didn't ask for help with this, as we only found out quite late in the evening. If we'd been staying longer, we would have contacted the help number, and I'm sure something would have been done about it. We would use this venue again.
LLisaPeach23Disaster. Rooms were far from clean with very few items stocked. No mugs at all. All surfaces were dirty. Windows/blinds didn’t work and a huge hike up stairs with large bags. Couch filthy. My elderly parents were in a room with the living area in the basement which stank due to the shower leaking and the carpets were soaked. Their room was on the Main Street with people smoking & drinking directly outside. Customer service woeful - zero communication or help with check in and over two weeks later we are still waiting for 250 pound security deposit to be returned. Completely unacceptable and we are having to chase daily.
VVadim ZahharovPlace was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short.
As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good.
Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well.
Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.
