The hotel is advertised as a spa hotel, the hotel does not have a swimming pool or sauna for guests. We contacted the hotel before arrival, this was confirmed. We wanted to cancel the hotel. The hotel confirmed that we would get a refund. we never got one. Basically impossible to get through to the reception. Very frustrating.

Hotel was listed as having parking but it didn’t. It cost £23 to park for night which was steep. Other than that, had a lovely stay.

Old hotel near the train station, 3 mins walk to Liverpool One shopping arcade. However, there is no TV remote control in the room. Also the AC is not working. No phone connected to the front desk.

From start to finish, our stay was awful. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t leave our two backpacks for 4 hours and were told to go to lime street where we had to pay £12 each. Upon arriving back after the Liverpool game we checked in which was arduous and time consuming. We were also asked to pay a £50 each which is bizarre given it was 2 of us and we were only staying one night. When arriving at our room, door handles were falling apart, the bathroom was messy, the toilet seat was falling off and the taps were broken and you could feel the springs in the mattress when sleeping. You couldn’t see a thing out of the window also. We were offered a 20% restaurant voucher for the upstairs restaurant which considering we paid £85 each is small consolation. To add, the staff were more than happy to tell us we couldn’t keep our bags. Would not stay here again and would discourage others from staying here too.

Great Hotel, stayed previously but on check in was told that the Hotel isn’t open Tuesday and Wednesdays so would have to find alternative accommodation - wasted 2 hours trying to resolve this with online chat which wasn’t the best start to the trip - not the Hotels issue as they inform the site about closure but this was never passed on. Hope when the Hotel reopens after the refurbishment in June that it is of a similar style bit will have to find somewhere wise in Liverpool until next May

The room was a great size for a family. But not very clean, lots of dust, the bath jets were full of limescale that was present when running the bath. The bath tap was loose also

Upon Arrival to 30 james street, we expected them to be able to hold our bags as it states online that they can do this if your room is not ready. We were informed that there was a meeting on in the room which the bags are usually held and that it is not a guarantee that bags are held there, more of a good gesture upon the hotels behalf. We then had to pay £25 for our bags to be held at Lime Street Station whilst we went to the football. We arrived back to the hotel later on, were given our key, and told we were on the 2nd floor. I have been here before with my family and there was no comparison in the rooms, it was polar opposites. We were given a room with two beds, and basic amenities. Personally, I thought all hotels would provide a mini fridge of some sort but we did not receive this. As in a previous room here, we had a full self catering kitchen. The bed sheets barely stay on top of the stained mattresses. Upon attempting to put the heating on, a spanner icon appeared. I went downstairs to ask about this and one of the staff kindly informed me that there is a portable heater in our room which we can plug in. Another thing which we weren’t informed of. When I got up in the morning to use the bath/shower, there was a very bad sewage like smell coming off the drains. The staff were lovely and welcoming but personally I believe that for the price we paid, I would’ve got a better and warmer experience in a premier inn. And it would’ve been a little bit less expensive too.

Theme was good. Staff were helpful but hallway decor was a bit tired and grubby. Bedding was clean but some parts of bathroom were broken and some areas could do with a deep clean like corners and air vents.
