Embassy Suites by Hilton Detroit Livonia Novi

We stayed here for a youth hockey tournament. Normally, the hotels we stay at for these tournaments are not nice and the staff can be very rude. This was not the case here. The staff was so responsive and helpful. I want to highlight all of the front desk staff from the front desk. They were so kind and helpful to literally everyone. The room was clean. We even met the owner, Mase Mikhail, who recently purchased the property and was in the process of a huge renovation to the hotel. The wait staff and the bartenders were super friendly as well. The kids enjoyed the pool and the free breakfast was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

Without a doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We had originally booked for 3 nights, but only lasted 1. If we weren't so tired from the flight, we might have noticed more and shouldn't have even stayed the first night. On the first room they gave us, when we opened the sofa bed up, dried food pieces came out of the bed. We stopped there and asked for another room. The 2nd room did not have the dried food so we thought it was actually clean. Upon further review the following morning that was not the case. There was trash in the drawers, There was trash under the sofa bed that was visible once the bed was pulled out along with clothing from someone's stay prior to our arrival. The back side of the bedroom door had dried soda stains.(We hadn't closed the bedroom door until the following day otherwise we might not have picked-up on that one). There also seemed to be some sort of black marks in the carpet and wall that was hard to tell exactly what it was. Terrible Hilton experience. Usually, the Hilton name means you don't have to worry about things like this. Very disappointing.

This hotel exceeded our expectations very clean, didn’t have any problems, staff is amazing. They offer a breakfast buffet for their guests, which most places don’t. A lot of the reviews are from old ownership and old staff. There’s new owners and new staff and it is due for a renovation. This hotel was a 10 out of 10 would stay again and recommend anyone else to stay. Gianni Mikhail Took care of everything for me And I’m glad I stayed there for my visit!

I was told by the Uber driver who picked me up to take me to the airport that he knew I was an out-of-towner because I selected this one to stay in. This would have been useful information prior to my stay. The picture of the hotel posted on this site can be a little deceiving or it is very old. In truth, I was able to endure the stay due to the assistance provided by the staff and the hot breakfast. The room, I must say, actually looks better than the photos posted online. I liked the modern touches with the traditional furniture. It felt "homey". However, the fact that I had to report a broken microwave and missing bathtub stopper once I entered the room was not the hotel's finest hour. The bed was comfortable and the fact that I could close the door leading to the bedroom to separate me from the noise going on from someone's family reunion allowed me to stay for the 3 nights which I had booked. In addition to the hotel needing some updates to worn items, they also need to update their signage. Additionally, the front desk receptionist, Ms. Adams, made a bad situation turn into a feasible solution to their "horrible" placement of a business office---the atrium--where anyone passing by or sitting in the atrium would be able to see what's on the computer screen that you are using. Since the printer was not working properly, Ms. Adams resolved my need to obtain my boarding pass for my upcoming flight by emailing it to her work address so that she could print it out for me. This is why I rated the hotel as a 3. The breakfast and the soft bed were the best features of this stay! Be wary when making this selection.

Staff was friendly, breakfast was not exactly what I have experienced from Embassy Suites. Cheaper ingredients, small portions, and staff was extremely set in shutting doors at exactly 9am when it was over. Room was older, smells musty, stains on walls, spider webs in corners, drain was slow so your standing in dirty water. Pull out bed was dirty with old stained sheets. Carpet was stained and very old. The place is extremely ran down and needs a full renovation.

I loved this hotel !New owners had come in and made the place really nice . Breakfast was amazing . The gym had no air conditioning though and not good equipment. Beds where comfortable and workers were nice . Would recommend. Most reviews are no longer true .

No thank you. This place was next to my first appointment and having never stayed here- and being a Hilton Diamond member- I almost always stay at Hilton properties. I arrived late after a full day to find my digital key wasn’t working… no big deal, but annoying as it was almost 10:30 and after 5 hours of driving- I just wanted to go to the room. I get up to the room after the most unbelievably slow elevator you could imagine to find- which was completely wet and covered in water assuming from the pool… to what I’d deem as slightly above a Super 8. The rooms were extremely outdated, for $180+ on a Tuesday night- I’d expect a little more. But the absolute WORST was this continuous noise- almost like a leaf blower right outside the window- ALL NIGHT. I had to pop two Advil PM and turn my TV up just to try and sleep. This is by far the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed at. For the price, they should be ashamed of themselves. There is a zero% chance I’d ever stay here again.

Most of the reviews about the hotel being old, are correct. I heard from a few people it is due for renovation, and the is good. The hallways and elevator were pretty dirty. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. When looking at this hotel for a weekend, know that it is a really good place for teams and events and kids, but not at all a romantic getaway. The breakfast is very good as well. If traveling with just my husband, I would find a different place. If traveling with my family, I would stay here again.
