Oh dear, what’s happened to Nant Ddu? I’ve been going since 2004, but it is now really run down: grotty en suite bathroom, damp patches on walls everywhere, dilapidated spa, sauna off, defensive staff, apart from one receptionist Molly who was absolutely fantastic :-( The spa treatments we had were nice and another good thing was the food, which was simple and delicious. But it really feels like a hotel where a lot of energy was put into it being set up more than 20 years ago and then slowly over the years less and less love, care and attention has been given to it so that now it’s falling apart at the seams. Really basic repairs clearly hadn’t been done and when I asked it seemed like there were no processes in place for keeping across maintenance and what would be the minimum standard they would expect guests to accept. The staff’s defensive reaction suggests a culture of fear or not being encouraged to care for the hotel or the customer experience - who is running Nant Ddu? Who is leading change and improvement here? How on earth have they let it get so bad? We won’t go again. Very disappointing.
