I'm a local who has been on several occasions but following our my most recent visits wouldn't return. Last spa visit the hot tub was cold, and the hairdryers hadn't worked since the previous spa visit. More recently was a lunch visit only. We had element of the meal missing, service wasn't great, slow, no check backs etc. I had to get up 3 times to get attention at different points during linch. Wouldn't be so bad if service wasn't charged at 12.5%. Additionally my coffee was cold (actually cold tather than not hot) and the waiter didn't seem happy that asked for get a non cold one. It was also £5.45 for a latte by itself (plus servicecharge), not even a biscuit with it. If you charge those prices you should make it clear and have it advertised.

Afternoon tea with relatives, after our experience of Sunday lunch which was excellent afternoon tea sadly did ring our bells, tea served in stained cups , greasy sausage rolls and scotch eggs, cake selection was again poor dry and tasteless, saving grace was scones, staff were friendly at least, there you go, sadly no return for tea for us.

Comfortable room (stayed in stable block), great food, cozy lounge and dog friendly. Lovely riverside walks close by. No complaints except for the outside unheated pool. For a spa hotel I would have expected a heated pool and I’m surprised it wasn’t undercover.

Peterstone Court is a friendy, hospitable and comfortable place to stay. I cannot praise the staff and the food highly enough. Unfortunately, the facilities in the room I occupied left a lot to be desired. To start wtih, the layout of the room was inconvenient in that the bathroom and clothes storage were at ground level, while the excellent bed was upstairs! This was not at all convenient (or safe) at 2 o'clock in the morning for an 85 year old! The bathroom was clean and fully equipped with bath etc. but badly lacking in safety aspects. The shower was over the bath, but there was no grab handle to assist with balance problems and no rubber mat to ensure no slippage. These factors ensured that I could not take a shower during the two days I was there.

Have to say as huge well done to Peterstone Court. Went with the family today and everything was spot on. The room we had lunch in, the staff and the food was excellent. They had a full house today and still managed to make it a lovely experience. Will be going back very soon and would highly recommend it. Thankyou all for a very enjoyable Mothers Day .

In our part of the world, finding places that serve afternoon tea on a Monday and that also offer a full Vegan/Plant Based option is like finding the proverbial 'needle'. Peterstone Court certainly are able to fill that brief. The booking process was easy and seamless and on arrival the warm welcome was complimented with exemplary service through out our visit. The house and location are lovely and taking tea on the indoor terrace was a treat. The selection of teas is small and good quality but it was a shame that two we asked for were out of stock. The food was really good, plentiful and the chef went that extra mile in presentation and Vegan sandwich fillings with a lovely little falafel (crisp on the outside and soft inside - as it should be but rarely is) and Vegan sausage roll. The scones were delightful and the cakes colourful, delightfully presented and moreish! In addition there was a small glass of a tomato based soup and a nice hummus with pomegranate seeds served with crispy dipping 'sticks'. My only comment would be that we would have preferred a wholemeal/granary/sourdough bread for the sandwiches rather than the ubiquitous 'white sliced'. The only other thing I would say is that the choice of background music was not really an afternoon tea vibe - rather think Palm Court, string quartet, solo piano tinkling away..... All in all a delightful experience at an incredibly reasonable price which we will no doubt be repeating. Thank you Peterstone Court - well done!

I BOOKED AND PAID FOR A'BEST COUNTRY DELUXE ROOM'WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE SIZE OF A SINGLE ROOM WITH A SMALL DOUBLE BED,THE VIEWS FROM THE ROOM WERE OF A ROOF AND TWO FIRE ESCAPE LADDERS. THE FOOD WAS VERY MEDIOCRE...... ALSO AN EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT INCIDENT WITH RECEPTION.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The decor is very elegant, the atmosphere is so relaxing. We booked a meal for 7.30 in the restaurant but were left waiting 20/30 minutes for our table, be mindful that this place is popular with locals to eat, so hotel guests can be left in the shadows, the 3 course meal I could not fault, compliments to the chef! The views from our room were fantastic, coming from a city this place was a breath of Welsh countryside fresh air. Sadly the hotel booking was not confirmed via email, I had to chase it, there was also a mix up with booking a hot stones massage, my email requests were totally over looked by a lady called Dawn, I think this could can been avoided if more attention was paid to emails, the manager did take on board my complaint, apologised and offered a complimentary voucher which was never sent, which is fine, I just hope no one else has to leave the spa for a birthday gift massage with no treatment and lessons have been learnt. My advice if your booking spa treatments, check once, twice and check again, I planned the trip so carefully and left disappointed due to this over sight. No accountability was taken, I spend a lot of time travelling and staying at hotels, all over the UK, for such a beautiful place it is sadly a no from me to return here.
