Wombat's City Hostel London

This is a well-known and established hostel. The hardware facilities are good and there are no issues. However, I feel that the software service could be a bit more enthusiastic and user-friendly. First, the location is quite convenient, at a crossroads. Walking west from the crossroads for about 10 minutes will take you to Tower Bridge and the subway station. However, because it's at a crossroads, with trains and cars nearby, there's a bit of noise from cars and trains at night, which can be a bit loud when trying to sleep. It's a very large building with good hardware facilities. Upon entering, there's the front desk, and you need to swipe your card to enter any room in the accommodation area, which is very secure. The accommodation area is large, like a student dormitory. In the basement, there's foosball ⚽, a laundry room, and a breakfast area, so the facilities are very comprehensive. The rooms are also spacious, with 6 beds at one end and the toilet and shower at the other. The wet and dry areas are separate. Each bunk has its own curtain, a small fan, a safe, and a power outlet. The outlet has one UK standard plug and one USB port, which is convenient for charging. However, because they are bunk beds, any slight movement by the person above or below you will create a lot of noise. Roommates come from various countries, men and women, young and old. My bottom bunk-mate was a 70-year-old Canadian Chinese elder traveling alone in Europe. Roommates don't interact much; they just greet each other when going out or meeting in the morning and evening. During the day, everyone quietly pulls their curtains, minding their own business, so privacy is guaranteed, even for introverts. However, precisely because the dorm is too quiet, any slight movement you make, like turning over, getting dressed, or picking up something, will create a very loud sound that all 5 other people in the dorm can hear. At night, you can clearly hear who moved, who turned over, and who snored. You can even hear the sound of someone using the toilet very clearly. This is indeed a drawback. 6 people sharing one shower and one toilet is a bit cramped, but luckily everyone is considerate and manages to shower at different times in the morning and evening; one person finishes before another goes in. The front desk was a bit cold, but check-in was relatively quick. There's a free charging area at the front desk where you can sit and charge your devices.

I think I've stayed here before in Germany; it's very close to Tower Bridge, which is why I chose it. The room was spacious and the bathroom was good. I'd recommend it, and I'm sure I'll have the chance to visit London again.

This is a large, well-established hostel, very conveniently located near the subway. The rooms have private bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas, but there's no air conditioning, only a fan. It can get quite hot if you visit in the summer.

The location is good, not too far from the subway station. The public areas are well-equipped with a restaurant and an outdoor bar. The rooms have a toilet and a shower. The hotel also has a breakfast restaurant and a coffee shop.
