Stayed here for our 15 year wedding anniversary. Location was great as pretty close to the west end theatres. Unfortunately our room G.01 fell well below expectations. +Super friendly helpful staff +clean rooms and hotel generally. - Room G.01 - a ground floor - we had to keep curtains shut the entire time, as people walking in the streets outside have a clear view straight into your bedroom! The Mrs was most unimpressed at this. - Tiny shower room and cubicle - honestly my mums caravan has a bigger shower. I could barely fit, and I'm 5ft 7, 68kg. If you are larger person, or slightly overweight forget it! - Shower temperature was not getting hot - raised with reception and was told "leave it running for 5mins and it should start to get hot" not ideal if you're in a hurry and don't have time to sit around having a cup of tea whilst you wait for the shower to heat up. - Too many doors!, all with harsh slamming fire hinges - they slam you on the butt as you walk through, they slam in the night when you are trying to be quiet through the night - even the shower room had it. - Insanely confusing Air Con, that we could not work out how to manually set a temperature without it flicking back to "Auto" a matter of seconds later. We both felt we were slowly suffocating through the night, due to the "Auto" mode ensuring the air con would turn off after a few minutes. - an insanely bright green laser emits from the air con wall pad, so we had to drape towels over it. - strong bright white light emits from the menu screen on the bedside telephone, with no obvious way of turning it off, unless your a 90's Mittel engineer - had to cover this also - pre booked parking space, but there was a broken down car straddled across the last 2 spaces meaning we had to find on street parking instead. - various other issues, such as the "L'occitane" toiletries being refilled with water, meaning a diluted fairy liquid squirt, rather than a proper shower gel. Also questionable whether they are just using L'occitane bottles and filling with cheap liquids. - Breakfast expensive for the small buffet selection on offer. Also we were asked to confirm the night before what time we would be attending breakfast, so we had to go at a specific time slot, rather than simply when waking up. Conclusion - After the stay, we felt that a "boutique" style place like this just isn't work the risk - is in our case room G.01 - needs to be taken out of service in our view! I've stayed in a Travelodge with more generous features and installations. I'm sure some others are lucky to get a larger room, and perhaps even a bath tub. Next time we'll be opting for one of the more well known hotel chains with uniform room standards, so you know exactly what you are getting before your book it - especially at several hundred pounds for one night.

Stay was great until I found out they took money from my bank for breakfast I didn’t take. I stated at check-in I didn’t want breakfast as I was at work early the following day. I called the hotel for a refund, only to be told I need to send an email to the manager and they would check the cctv to ensure I didn’t attend breakfast.

The room is quite nice. The reception attitude is very good. They are also very helpful in helping with takeout at night. If there are any problems, they will be dealt with promptly. From the sky view room, you can see the reflected KPMG. Hahaha. I’m still working late at night.

Cold pizza - heated up not cooked freshly. No staff available to help. I have a feather allergy and the only person on shift would not leave reception to help or let me get replacement pillows from the cupboard myself. Not worth the stay. Not helpful or in anyway accommodating

It was a lovely hotel, built from what used to be a town hall. We booked a club room, which was basically a loft, with heavenly beddings, a fabulous chandelier, and very fragrant toiletries. The front desk staff and Anna from the restaurant below were attentive and excellent, The location is convenient, just a short walk from the DLR, the Elizabeth Line and the London Underground. We would definitely stay here again.

We went on a couples break and stayed at the Lansbury. It was ok but wasn't great the location, room and hotel facilities were not really up to expectations. The main issues are: Its not in a Tourist area its a good walk to Canary Warf and Poplar High street has nothing going on that you would want to do as a tourist. Its a bit rough around the edges to be honest. The room was comfortable and clean but had a horrible layout. The Bed was on a platform that was up a flight of steep stairs. The Bathroom and seating are on the lower level. The bed was comfortable but is not really a king size and the tea and coffee making facilities were distinctly average. The Air conditioning was effective although the controls were via the TV screen and were a bit fussy. We didn't eat at the hotel but had a coffee in the bar which was a bit dismal and the food available did not appear to be of the standard you would expect from a 4* boutique hotel. Service was ok but again nothing special. If you are working in the East of Town and cant get in at Canary Warf or Tower Hill then this is an ok option but its not really any better than a Premier Inn or Travelodge with a bit of history and nicer artworks.

I have to give an honest appraisal of my visit this weekend which overall was very good... Though not excellent. It started off pretty well and the lady receptionist was very friendly. The room was ready before 3 which was a bonus. The room itself was lovely but it did have a slight musty smell which we only noticed as soon as we went in. It wasn't strong enough to make a complaint over. It was clean and tidy as was the bathroom. We used the sauna and steam room which was lovely and the whole spa area seemed top notch. We didn't use the gym. We left to go out for the evening and we were told beforehand that the main doors may be locked after midnight but to ring the doorbell for entry. We came back at 1130pm and the entrance was locked. We rung the doorbell several times and there was no reply. We noticed a telephone number on a notice on the window to ring and this was ring.... 12 times in fact in a 10 minute period that remained unanswered.. By this time another 5 or 6 guests were also waiting in the cold to go in. Thankfully it wasn't raining or we'd all be soaked through. On the 13th time of ringing it was answered and the night worker finally answer the door. Unless this was an emergency this was unacceptable and no reason was given. The rest of the stay thankfully went smoothly but the calculations of the Sunday receptionist trying to work out the breakfast prices for us and our friends left a lot to be desired. (breakfast was very nice, both continental and English to be fair) Overall a lovely stay... would I stay again..... Probably but I hope they sort out the night time procedure so people aren't locked out again.

I booked this hotel for my girlfriends birthday and we were amazed at how incredible the whole experience has been. We arrived just past midnight and made a few requests which were all delivered very quickly by the lovely lady at reception during the night shift. The rooms are like no other hotel in London with high ceilings and huge windows, as well as lots of lighting to keep the room bright and a very easy to use air con. The bath is also a great luxury. In comparison to the double tree Hilton which I would say is in a similar price bracket - I would choose this anytime without no doubt. In the morning we were checking out with Daniel who is also a lovely guy and he was also very helpful when I called in to check in on lost property. I look forward to coming back to here more regularly :)

What a great place and lovely staff! We asked for a few bits from reception and they were more than happy to help. The room is beautiful, can’t complain about a single thing! The atmosphere is so lovely. Wonderful service, great evening, loved every bit of there. Thanks again! Hayley and Simon x
