This was a warm, friendly and welcoming place we booked at the last minute after a let down in arrangements but it was the best decision made.

Staff were very helpful, cleanliness was good and beds were extremely comfortable. The restaurant service was slow but the food was excellent. Portion sizes on the small side, but quality of a very high standard. We were next to 2 rooms of party girls who were talking very loudly, slamming doors etc in to the small hours. There was also a birthday party with drum beats heard loudly in the room until midnight. The pool was very busy with children's swimming lessons, but the hot tubs were amazing - a pity that there was an additional charge to use them.

We had a fabulous stay . We are repeat visitors I couldn’t fault this hotel . Our little boy walks with a walker the staff here are always so friendly and helpful . It is always a very comfortable and pleasant stay .

Bedroom was spacious, looked like it had been remodelled, and had two double beds. Very comfortable and very quiet. Would have liked a bedside clock and a TV with more channels. Strange incident in the restaurant. Requested small bottle of still water. Server brought a large bottle saying they were out of small bottles but we would only be charged for a small bottle as that was what we had requested. All good so far until the bill arrived charging us for a large bottle. Informed this second server of our previous conversation with his colleague, who had now left, but this gent insisted we pay for the large bottle. Didn't want to create a scene but this was embarrassing and perhaps somewhat dishonest.

Second time saying here, first time was amazing which is why we returned. This time the dinner was not worth £75. Kids meal tasted like the chips had been cooked twice and reheated, yorkshire puddings were cremated and the beef was tough. No drinks menus on the table but asked straight away what was to drink. The soft drinks we got were flat. Service was slow and waited 25 minutes for dessert (ice cream, cream sundae and a tart)At breakfast the potato bread was burnt and looked as if it had been cooked twice again. Not able to use the facilities after check out (we were allowed last time) and Wifi didn’t work in our room. Check out experience was poor, lady didn’t know the answers to our basic questions.

Siamo capitati in questo hotel una sera durante un tour guidato. L'hotel ci era stato proposto come un quattro stelle. Purtroppo già all'arrivo scopriamo che non c'è l'ascensore e neppure un servizio di facchinaggio così dobbiamo trascinare i nostri valigioni fino alla stanza. Tenuto conto che l'età media dei partecipanti è piuttosto elevata, all'indomani il risultato è mal di schiena un po' per tutti. Scopriamo pure che l'hotel è in mezzo al nulla. Siamo circondati da campi e animali. Una parte del gruppo che desidera fare un giro serale in città, è costretto a prendere un taxi poichè non esistono mezzi per il centro. La prima sera l'hotel è animato da un gruppo vociante di gente che festeggia un matrimonio e da alcuni indaffaratissimi camerieri che purtroppo all'indomani spariscono e la colazione del giorno seguente si risolve in un vero disastro. In pratica rimane un'unica cameriera molto anziana che non riesce a far fronte a nulla. Dopo parecchia attesa, riusciamo ad avere un caffè annacquato e un pezzo di pane. Il buffet è sguarnito di tutto!!! Mai capitata una cosa del genere!!! La seconda sera scopriamo di essere già stati eliminati dal data base dell'hotel: quasi nessuno riesce più ad entrare nelle proprie stanze. Parecchio stanchi dopo un'intera giornata in tour, dobbiamo rifare la coda in reception per riavere le chiavi di accesso e la receptionist, anzichè scusarsi del disguido, si dimostra seccata e arrogante. Un hotel neppure all'altezza dei peggiori motel. Esperienza da dimenticare. Sconsiglatissimo!!!

We stayed in the hotel for one night. The main reception and hall decor is dated and could do with a refresh, however the room had clearly been renovated as it was fantastic. Loads of space, spotless and very modern. The bathroom included a large shower, which was powerful which we love and the mirror had a built in light which is just perfect to get ready. Bottled water was provided and also tea, coffee and a kettle. We rang and requested spa robes which was delivered to our room for us to use the spa facilities. The pool was massive, it was cool and with a young baby it wasn’t the best, that’s one thing we would recommend to the hotel to review. But very clean and well looked after. Steam room and sauna was fantastic. You’ve to pay extra to use jaquzzi pool. We got so much use out of the pool and towels were available on arrival. We didn’t eat in the evening in the hotel but ordered desserts when we returned with drinks and they were lovely. We had cocktails and they were delicious, was very impressed with that. We had breakfast the next morning, all freshly prepared hot breakfast, which was constantly replenished. Pastries, ham, cheese, fruit juices etc was also all available and delicious. Coffee was good and staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. We also had the staff sterilise our baby’s bottles in the microwave which was no bother to them at all. We will definitely return and stay again, it is perfect for a family and so welcoming. Thanks for a great stay.

The staff were great and couldn’t have been more helpful. The card system to get in the rooms needs updating, every day my card would lock me out of my room, which is time consuming.
Good food in the restaurant too!

The hospitality experience, from first entry until final check-out, is world class. Great hotels are made by great people. The White Horse wins with staff that are professional, highly personable and caring. Food and catering are wonderful. My room was elegant, quiet and very comfortable.
