The location of the hotel is very central, just inside the city wall, and there are welcome biscuits and chocolates. The children said it was delicious, but the room is relatively small. The British breakfast service is very good

Loved everything about Shipquay Boutique Hotel. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The champagne and chocolate truffles are a fabulous beginning to a great stay. The linens and pillows are heavenly. The ideal location was great for exploring and a super fun pub crawl. Breakfast is not to missed, the omelette and coffee are maybe the best we've had. Thanks so much!

Wonderful historic hotel inside the walls. Staff were wonderful! Champagne to greet us after our long day. Had dinner and breakfast- both were simply delicious!!! Highly recommend.

We Stayed overnight as we were going to an event in the city . The hotel is centrally located close to shops bars and historical venues . I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel , not just because it’s beautiful decorated , comfortable and spotlessly clean but the staff are amazing . Everyone was so warm and welcoming . The breakfast was excellent and all the little extra special touches added on were a lovely surprise.

Fabulous friendly hotel. Breakfast was great and mimosas a lovely touch! Ordered fish of the day for dinner (black bream) and couldn’t have been any fresher. We also had a complimentary charcuterie platter and bottle of red wine to share. Staff wonderfully friendly, local and helpful. Parking a bit of an issue as you have to park off site but hotel recommended Bishop Street carpark which is just a 5mins walk away. Centrally located in the City of Derry. Highly recommend for a treat away. A real gem of a hotel.

We booked a one night Dine & Dream package and it was superb from start to finish. Easy walking access to and from the bus and train stations. Lovely friendly staff on reception who gave us all the information on the hotel and surrounding area along with tips for cafes and sightseeing. We were able to pay and get a ticket for the Martin Crossan walking tour at the hotel. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything needed, iron, ironing board, fabulous smelling toiletries, hairdryer, kettle with coffee etc, hand made biscuits and fresh milk a phone call away. Dinner that night was a 3 course meal with tea & coffee, absolutely delicious, couldn't fault it. Breakfast next morning was served by a Mary who was super friendly and had everything served to our table which was lovely. No buffet here. Full Irish breakfast was the best I have had.

We arrived at the Hotel late one Saturday evening on a busy weekend, only to find out that the Hotel did not have our reservation (from *******) and was full. After a bit of panic on both sides, their staff went to work. They found a room at a new, nice hotel across the river; comped us drinks and dinner in their pub and restaurant; ferried us to the alternative hotel for the evening; and supplied us an upgraded room for the last two nights of our stay. Their professionalism and caring turned what could have been a nightmare into a great experience. And, they did all this when the mistake may not have even been theirs. If we ever make it to Derry again, and there is so much there to see with all the history and beauty in the area, we won’t hesitate to stay ant Shipquay again. Thanks so much to the staff for their friendship during our stay.

We loved our stay at The Shipquay. The rooms were lovely, the toiletries were very nice (including the lavender pillow spray). We had a great view of the river, city hall and the wall. It was a wonderful surprise.
Two important mentions. Parking is a little challenging. The hotel is aware and contacted me before we arrived. Even with that help, it was challenging for two drivers from North America. We figured it out and the staff was super helpful.
Secondly there is a real stand out, the restaurant. We opted to eat dinner at the hotel and it was fabulous. My husband had the burger, made in house with locally sourced beef. I had the Irish Sea Bass, outstanding! If you like fish, you will be thrilled.
All in all I highly recommend th Shipquay.
