excellent pub with a great atmosphere, fantastic staff and of course the food, which was superb!

Warm welcome for our December "date" night. Table for two in a quiet part of the pub/restaurant which was very busy with what appeared to be staff parties (its that time of year you know). The food was as good as we might have expected but nothing out of the ordinary and good value. The experience would have been better if we were asked during the meal if everything was OK as we had a couple of minor irritations. The starter of parfait was excellent large portions of pate, marmalade and butter but there was just not enough toast to go with it - another slice of toast would have been appropriate. I do believe that Parmentier potatoes should be crispy. Unfortunately when they are served in a bowl rather than on a plate the potatoes ****** up the sauce accompanying the Hake and so any crispyness (if that's a word) went out of the window so to speak. So why did I not feedback at the time. A. We weren't asked for feedback whilst eating B. We're British we don't make a fuss! Would we go back again in the future - yes but there are plenty of similar places around this part of the world.

Lovely overnight with personal touches Really friendly helpful and interested team working here. Room on the small side, but very nice and quiet away from the pub and had all amenities you could ask for. Good power shower. Beds a bit soft for my taste. Food in the pub was wholesome big portions and great breakfast choices so overall good value for a pleasant stay. We’ll be back. Oh and it’s a nice little village too.

Will come back with wife and kids as a stop over Really pleasant country pub. The room was great with a comfy bed and the pub had nice beer and food.
