Very disappointed with this hotel and the manager! Booked a 3 night stay in an upgraded, seaview room with balcony. The room itself was small but ok, leading onto a balcony with a lovely view of the boats etc. but with the seagulls it was impossible to use because they used quite frequently. There was a notice on the window to say cleaners would clean but they didn’t. The bathroom was very tired. The rainfall shower dripped incessantly day and night, it looked like a 6 year old had been given a filler fun to fill the cracks etc. Breakfast was fine self service with a choice too. BUT the biggest problem was the disabled lift, from the pavement to the first floor, which we needed to use. Unfortunately it seems that there is a big problem here. You could not call it from street level. So you had to use your mobile, if you have one of course, to phone reception and ask them to come down and let you in. But after one day of this the reception staff were obviously tired of this and put AN OUT OF ORDER SIGN on the door! This meant climbing 2 flights of steps to get to the bar. We were not the only guests with problems! When questioned the reception staff told us it never worked and was useless. It completely spoiled our break. On returning I contact the hotel with my complaint and was ignored. I chased up and eventually received a reply that was just plain dismissive. I replied to this and am still waiting. But to me this just sums up the total attitude of the hotel. I WOULD NOT RETURN EVEN FOR A DRINK OR MEAL AND WOULD CERTAINLY NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE ANY DISABILITIES AT ALL. Considering they offer coach holidays, mainly for the older generation, I think they should start to rethink they attitude and equipment.
