Terrible front desk. When checking in, ask for "credit card garuntee". I asked the front desk what that term meant, did it mean that I had to hold my credit card at the counter until the day I left the store, or did it mean that the front desk had to register my credit card information. The front desk was very rude and refused to explain. After repeated inquiries, the front desk said it was the former (after complaining, I learned that it was to copy the front of the credit card, but it was actually the latter). I asked for a $200 cash deposit instead and asked if someone would come into the room with me to make sure everything was in order. The front desk said that I was unreasonable, and said that this is the case when staying in hotels in North America and Europe, and threatened not to give me the room key. I ended up humbly apologizing to the front desk and saying a lot of nice things to get a place to stay for the night.
I am very grateful to Ctrip for helping me with the complaint process, and I contacted the company to which the hotel belongs overnight. Although the front desk did not come to apologize in person in the end, the front desk of another shift apologized instead (although the apology was very insincere).
