Found Hotel, Santa Monica

Good location, easy car park, great service and polite staff

My king room was spacious, comfortable, and modern, and the lobby and hotel had nice designer touches, but it also had a musty smell and is on Santa Monica Blvd so traffic noise is high. I had explicitly requested a quiet room so am bewildered as to why they placed me at the front of the building overlooking SM Blvd instead of an interior room or the rear which abuts a residential neighborhood. Even the complimentary white noise machine couldn't drown out the steady and persistent traffic which resulted in two nights of almost no sleep. The multitude of giant, firm, uncomfortable pillows also confounded me. If you're going to dress the bed in 6+ pillows, maybe provide an assortment? I didn't use any of them. Pluses include blackout blinds, a very large bathroom with plenty of counter space and nice soaps, a small and free parking lot that can maybe accommodate 14 vehicles (I didn't even attempt it since neighborhood parking was so easy), 24-hour on-site front desk staff and security, and a big lobby with pool table and seating. There's not a lot to see right outside the front door, but that's pretty much the case at any hotel in the area that's not right on the water. And even then... But everything you need is a short drive away. Not sure I wouldn't stay here again, but I'm not especially eager to.

We had a hard time getting in the building, but the staff was very helpful. The room was nice, clean, and quiet. We loved the pool table.

The room was ample and clean. But the walls and ceilings are not sound insulated and you can hear your neighbors left, right and above. There is no furniture to place folded clothing.

Stayed at Found Santa Monica for 10 Nights June 2024. I was there for a business trip but here are my take aways. Location- Relatively suburban area so there’s not too much happening that’s that fun if you’re there on vacation, would recommend getting a car as there’s not much outside of coffee/breakfast that’s walking distance (Starbucks 5 min walk, Blu Jam Café 10 min walk.) The general Area surrounding feels slightly questionably in the evening. The 7/11 and parking lot next door feels more dangerous at night and is rife with homeless around the hotel but I don’t think the hotel can do much about that. Staff- Helpful enough. I was checked in by Stephen who could not find my booking and I found him to be rather unapproachable throughout the rest my stay and unwelcoming. Other staff members seemed ok though. Security always around the lobby area. Rooms- Basic but clean. Would have loved a fridge or something perhaps but my room on the second floor had a desk and a wardrobe and a very nice bathroom. It’s everything you need- nothing more nothing less, cleaners did a good job most days however the AC unit is loud and can give off a weird smell if left on all day. TV has a lot of channels but no ability to connect from smart devices (although advertised). Overrall- Every part of me wanted to give this a poor review as I was largely unimpressed but for the price I can’t complain. If you want basic necessities for a good price in LA in the Santa Monica area then go for it. Don’t expect to be blown away and keep yourself to yourself- the check in codes is a great feature which I wish more hotels would implement. 3/5 Stars from me. Ok, does the job?
