Sol Arona Tenerife

Absolutely satisfied! The pictures are real, the hotel is old but very good and clean, it offers a good product. Room cleaning, reception and the restaurant personal, everyone of those people are helpful and very friendly. For the breakfast just one word - amazing! Thank you very much! We will be come back again 😊 definitely

One of the most difficult reviews I've ever written. 1st impressions were awful, outside of the building is a throwback to the 70's. Arrived late, almost midnight, no doggy bag or meal left as has occurred at other hotels, managed to leg it down to the bar and purchased a few packets of crisps. Room 1105 was fine, no air con, no fridge but we knew this at the time of booking and never missed either tbh. Meals and bar were fine, sometimes had to revisit the restaurant as it was packed and no tables available. Wine, lager, soft drinks are all self service at the bar, but the que for shorts or cocktails was often a fair size. A little baffled that you couldn't get any AI ice-cream from the bar. Daytime snacks were fine. Pool is in a poor state of repair, with plenty of sharp hazards at various places. I did complain that they used metal poles to indicate where these were, someone diving in without noticing could have cause severe injury. Pool entertainment was sometimes great, the water carpet and inflatable obstacle course were our favourites. There is a bunfight in the morning for sunbeds, there's nowhere near enough, I found a way round this and managed to beat the rush every morning, don't be a sheep !! Evening entertainment was very good I thought compared to other 3*. We went on 3 excursions, Mount Teide with cable car €220 for a family of 3....long day but worth a visit. Siam Park, way overrated, far too busy and not enough rides for a six year old, she was only tall enough for 2 of them. Don't bother with free transport it's chaos and it only cost €10 each way in a taxi. Loro Park was similar, way too busy, bypass the whale show 1st thing in the morning, pm shows are much quieter. Don't miss the sea-lion show, it's awesome. Give yourself plenty of time to get back to the coach, it gets extremely busy around the exit. We also had a trip on the viking ship, 2 hours was €50 ish and we'll worth the money. Overall a decent holiday, too many things annoyed me to want to go back, mainly the state of the pool, having to pay for the safe and having to return to the restaurant due to no tables being available. Also lifts can take forever, we were on the 11th floor and regularly used the stairs instead. Plus sides, food was ok and a self service bar

Love love loved this hotel. Okay rooms are dated, but hey we only slept in them. Air con should be in every room, not just on 1 floor. Entertainment 11am til 11pm, great for the kids and adults. Staff all friendly. Food selection was great. All 4 kids aged 6 7 and 9 ate something every day from buffet, also food out by the pool was great for a snack, Hotdogs burgers fish fingers chips etc. I would go back tomorrow. Weather was great. Our party had 3 seperate rooms on 3 different floors and aircon was the only issue. Too hot not to have aircon. Apart from that we all lived Sol Arona tenerife

There is no air con in your room so most nights we had to sleep with the balcony door open. Food was terrible we ate in there twice and for the rest of the week we went out for food luckily the hotel is in a perfect location 2 minute walk over the road and down a hill your on the beach front with plenty of restaurants etc. The restaurant isnt the biggest either and some nights people had to queue to get in. The pool is awful cracks and loose tiles all over make sure your down for 8am to get a run down sun lounger as well any later you’ll be out of look the pool area is just not big enough for the hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again !

We read the reviews prior to going on holiday, the staff were very friendly, cleaners worked tirelessly, restaurant food was quite good for all inclusive, our room though on the 14th floor was large and comfortable, however the balcony was dangerous 2 chairs far too big occupied the majority of it, the balcony wall height was approximately 30 inches high and put the fear of God in to you. Now I come on to the pool areas and sun beds. The main pool has around half a dozen patches on the floor to disguise the fact that the pool floor was lifting, the children's pool should have come with a health warning and danger signs all around it. The floor was covered in patches, the paint was lifting all around the inside of the pool, there were large patches of bare concrete where the paint had lifted. Children were constantly slipping and falling on the slimy concrete outside of the pool. This should be closed immediately. There were only enough Sunbeds for 50% of the residents and must be 10 years old by the state of them, the only way you could get a sunbed was if you were in reception at 07:40 and waited for the doors to open at 08:00 then run for a bed. These concerns were raised with the hotel who weren't interested and a formal complaint made with our travel agent.

The hotel needs some improvement on the furniture. We had half board but on the dinner we were only allowed to get water. A big minus is that they don’t have a fridge in the rooms and no air conditioner. Food is ok but i was expected to have more Spanish dishes. Good location, 5 minutes to the beach.
