The Masons Arms Hotel

Would recommend and will stay again Friendly welcome, clean comfortable room, great coffee machine in the room with 2 pods per person plus tea bags. Bathroom compact but clean and had a great shower. Good choice of breakfast and quality of food items.

Stayed here for new years eve, overall ok. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked and fresh produce. Bedroom small and compact for a standard room. The room had no drawers, needed some paintwork redoing, light bulb not working in one light and a health and safety hazard of an industrial power adaptor trailing on the floor for the TV. Positives - the bed was comfy and linin was clean and soft, perfect location and nice hotel. Unfortunately, we had a power cut during our stay and had no water or electric which we understand but was unable to have a shower due to no hot water for 2 days due to the hotel not resetting the water heater which they knew about and did not let us know and did not offer us any compensation or was not really apologetic. Also, they charged us double and it was not until we checked our bank accounts that we noticed this and got them to refund us. There was no manager on site past 8pm however, the telephone number was not visible and only found it when we were leaving. I also felt that the staff were inexperienced and did not really know what they were doing, one was really kind and came to our room asking if we needed anything. I would not stay at this hotel again due to this or until they rectifyed these points.

From the outside it looks like a traditional pub but what a surprise when you go inside. The bar and restaurant is light, airy and modern. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. The two flights of stairs to the rooms are challenging but the hotel does warn you at booking so cant complain. The room itself was clean with large ensuite bathroom. My only complaint was the lack of bedroom furniture. There were no drawers and the only hanging space was an industrial looking pipe situated over the kettle and coffee maker. There was space for a wardrobe so why not put one in. We did have a great weekend Louth is a lovely market town and the locals are very welcoming

A hotel with character well positioned in the centre of town

Lovely Lovely hotel right in the middle of Louth. Bedrooms are big and really nicely decorated and kitted out. Bathroom was spacious too. To top it all, one of the best hotels breakfasts ever.

Good stay Good stay, I was in room 4. Overall would have preferred a hotel who served breakfast from 7:30am instead of 8am.
