I loved this hotel. If you are looking for authenticity this is your spot. The food was great, the bar well stocked . We threw darts in the bar. It was just a great place to end up after a days hiking. Thanks Brenda, and you too Geordie.

Extremely disappointed in this hotel. We booked two rooms for Fri 16th October 2025 one of which needed to be ground floor. We booked this is August 2024 and had confirmation that one of the rooms would be ground floor. The fee for the rooms was taken one week before travel. We were half way there on the 16th when we got a call from the landlord to say he didn't have a ground floor room for us. We had to break our journey to get online and find something else suitable last minute which cost us considerably more. The landlord did refund us but this is not good or reliable service so if you do book and have specific requirements expect to be disappointed.

Struggled with the WiFi just up the road so popped into the White Sawn. Bar lady was super helpful, found me a nice quiet area to take my TEAMS video call. Had a fab pint of beer too.

We stayed here for 3 nights . The room was spacious and very clean. Good choice for breakfast and evening meal. All the staff we came across were very friendly and approachable. Will definitely be staying here again.

Ate here whilst on holiday in the area, we didn't book in advance but they were very welcoming and fitted us in. Meal was very tasty and reasonably priced. I had the lasagne and my husband had the chicken and brie burger, it was actually a very generous chicken fillet with bacon and huge slabs of brie! He said it was excellent. The puddings were great too. Lovely pub, very friendly staff, would definitely recommend.

What a smashing local pub this is. We stayed nearby and decided to try it for dinner and it was very good. We dined again midweek and it was again great with one member of our party saying that the steak, served medium rare as asked, was one of the best he had had in a very long while. On our departure day we packed and headed to The Swan for a cooked breakfast, once again we were delighted. In all three of our visits the ladies serving were a happy helpful team which set off the lively friendly atmosphere. This is what a good pub is all about. First class!
