My wife and I stayed at Villa Oasis in March, during Pi Mai (Lao New Year). We stayed twice, for a total of almost two weeks. We loved it. The villa complex is built alongside a swampy little lagoon (with no mosquitos, surprisingly), just a 10 minute walk from Phousi Hill, Sisavangvong Street, and the Luang Prabang Night Market. We chose it because Villa Oasis (and nearby Villa Mahasok) are two of the only mid-range hotels near the Old Quarter that have pools. As it happened, Luang Prabang experienced a heat wave in March 2023, so we were exceptionally glad we had the pool to cool off in. The villa is very close to a supermarket, there are many cheap restaurants close by, and you are only a 10 minute walk from the tourist night market, with lots of eating and drinking options. Two Little Birds cafe is only 5 minutes walk and has fantastic smoothie bowls. The rooms were comfortable, with traditional wood decor and small balconies. Breakfast in the open air restaurant was predictable but good. The villa offers free bicycles, which is handy if you want to get to the main restaurant and bar area of the Old Quarter, on the mid section of Sisavangvong Street, or to the restaurants along the Mekhong riverbank. Easily the best thing about Villa Oasis was its staff, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They were absolutely lovely and would do everything possible to make your stay more comfortable. They were quick to arrange airport transfers, taxis, train tickets, river boat tickets, or anything else needed. Nicest was the complimentary refreshing fresh fruit juice that would magically appear in your room or delivered to you poolside when you arrived back from exploring Luang Prabang.

We spent 3 nights in this small hotel. The rooms are correct, clean but very spacious. The staff is very nice and despite the language barrier, try to satisfy us as best as possible. We have to order the evening if we want eggs. Otherwise we are a group of 12 people, the only on the hotel, and a certain lack of organisation despite the good will of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The hotel is located along a street, so a little noise but the location is interesting for walking, visiting etc.. correct stay

I am a solo traveler in my 50s.
Most hotels in Laos are small-scale.
The staff are very friendly.
Kuang Si Falls join van reservation 100,000,000 kip
I booked a new motorcycle rental for 250,000 kip per day at the hotel.
This hotel has a semi-basement, so if you book a cheap room, there is a high chance of being booked in the semi-basement.
Even just idling at the table in front of the hotel seems emotional.
Breakfast is plain bread and coffee.
The location is good, with many shops nearby and close to the Mekong River (1 minute walk).
Hmong Ahi Market is also close by (5 minutes walk).
There is also a Miniso nearby, but it doesn't have many items. I bought sunscreen and a band next to the Miniso pharmacy.
Currency cannot be exchanged at the hotel.
The room is not that clean by Korean standards.
Some complaints are covered up by the kindness of the staff.^^
It seems like a lot of European travelers stay here.
Overall, I am satisfied with the price.

I came here with my friends. On the way, I heard someone say that this store is a great value. The same room across the street costs more than 500. The boss gave me a huge discount. You can also rent a battery car from the boss and exchange it for Lao currency. It's also clean and has a big garden. The boss also introduced delicious restaurants. Opposite is a temple attraction, and next to it is the French-built iron bridge, which is very historical. It is said that the house is an old house built in the colonial period and renovated. Highly recommended!

LLifengbeier2023.05.24
I chose his house because of the awesome retro style,
In addition, the reviews of his hotel in Phuket are not bad,
Booked without much hesitation.
When we check in, we plan to charter a boat to cruise the Mekong River.
The manager on duty asked enthusiastically if he needed to order some food,
And can help to arrange,
Another older lady saw me hanging the camera,
took me to their wine cellar,
let me take some pictures,
He also said that he could choose a red wine to bring on board.
After reading the MENU, we felt that we didn't like it very much.
It just means chartering a boat is fine.
The attitude of the duty manager immediately changed drastically.
Since the room was not ready at that time,
We went out for a walk,
When I came back, I happened to meet him enthusiastically sending away a group of white residents.
See us come back for another dramatic face-changing,
Turned around and said ”304, 305” to the front desk and walked away.
The front desk is quite enthusiastic,
Helped us send our luggage to the room,
and gave a detailed introduction to the room,
This is the first unpleasant experience in this hotel.
Since his SPA is very famous in Luang Prabang,
I booked a package with SPA when booking,
When checking in, the front desk did not ask if an appointment was required.
Then I remembered to make an appointment with the front desk,
I was told that the appointment was over for the day,
Because we will leave Luang Prabang at noon the next day,
So I made an appointment until 9 o'clock in the morning the next day,
In the end, he came to us that night and told us,
It was full the next morning,
Can only choose noon,
So we don't have time to do this project,
The front desk said that his authority was powerless,
We can communicate with the manager the next day.
We raised this issue with the manager when we checked out the next day (turns out the lady was the manager yesterday),
She offered to give us a bottle of red wine,
I feel that she is really obsessed with red wine,
Although his family's wine selection is not bad,
But this treatment is not satisfactory.
We said we don't need this bottle of red wine,
And we are two rooms,
She also offered to take us to the train station as compensation.
Due to time constraints,
I don't want to be too entangled,
can only agree.
Before she left, she asked me for a photo of yesterday in the wine storage room,
It turned out to be waiting here.
When having breakfast in the morning,
We are an unsolicited menu,
After we sat down, two white men came to the next table,
The same waiter delivered the menu enthusiastically,
And kindly asked them how their day was,
That flattering look made me feel a little sick.
The female manager was also in the restaurant at the time,
When the food is served, the whole face is expressionless,
The sound of placing the plates is very loud.
This should not be the quality of a hotel manager.
In short,
This hotel licks white very badly,
I saw that many domestic residents had similar experiences in his home,
Send it out to let everyone avoid the pit,
His price and service are very mismatched,
There are a lot of good hotels in Luang Prabang,
There is really no need to spend money at his house to find happiness.

It was our first time in Luang Prabang, and we picked Kiridara based on other reviews. Rest-assured, it was a smart choice. The location was great. While not in the center, there is a market super close and a supermarket about 10 minutes away. For the rest the hotel offers a free shuttle which is on call until about 9 pm, and takes you more or less everywhere you need to go. The rooms were clean, nicely layed out and offered everything you need. If something was wrong, it was fixed quickly. The pool was refreshing and offered a great view. The drinks from then pool bar were delicious. The highlight was the breakfast. There was a small, but nice buffet plus a menu. The a la carte menu was the biggest plus. You could pick up to four dishes, each from one category, like eggs, hearty or sweet. Be sure to eat yourself through all the options, while you stay - it‘s worth it! All in all a great stay, and we will come back to Kiridara for sure for our next stay.
I took a half day emountain bike this morning with 2 other people. I was super excited having paid $75 for it, had high expectations... The bike itself looked fine, however it could not handle steep hills. I asked another guest on the tour to test it as I was really struggling. He said it had no oomph or power on the steeper hills. He too ended up pushing it which he didnt have to do at all on his bike at any point. The others were motoring through pain free and they were older than me. The guide tested and said it was fine. Of course. The climbs were steep and it was exhausting. We never got to stop for photos or admire the scenery and it felt like an endurance test. We were then taken on a hike to some caves but I couldn't manage it after the exertion of getting there. The guide never checked on me and just let me go down alone. There was a van with three men in it (at this point I didn't know they were going to take my bike to the next village). As a solo traveller my first thought is my safety. Here I am waiting (no phone signal) in the middle of nowhere with these three young men there. The woman in my group observed there was 'bedding in the back'. It was unacceptable. I was then deposited I'm a village somewhere (alone) and waited for the others. Please note I am fit, lift weights and play badminton in a league. I have also played semi professional football. I gave them the opportunity to make it right but as ”the guide said it was fine” it clearly was, fine. Breathtaking. I also felt the reply had a degree of judgement in it ”difficulties completing the course” like I'm a 39st unit! There are no managers/decision makers on site. A premium price for a basic product- should have just hired a mountain bike for a tenth of the price. I hate giving bad reviews and if it had cost a bit less then I probably wouldn't but I really think people should know they are rolling the dice with this company. Absolute waste of time and money. Lunch was ok. Avoid. I feel so mugged off.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel service was very good and welcoming. Three people booked two rooms and were arranged with connecting rooms, which was very convenient, but the room was in the building facing the road outside, and there was a little noise when a car passed by (most of the other rooms were by the lake inside, which was quieter, probably because there were no connecting rooms there). We stayed for a total of 3 nights, and at 4 a.m. every day, there were swishing sounds in the walls and ceilings, which felt like some small animal, but I couldn't figure it out, but it shouldn't have entered the room.
We loved our stay at Thongbay and found this was our best accomodation our whole trip! The family run business look after their guest amazingly. We had our breakfast delivered each day on our gorgeous balcony looking towards the river, Mr Thy booked us a trip to the water falls (which was amazing) they even did our washing several times. The pool is super refreshing at the heat of the day, able to get Beer Loas anytime at reasonable prices and we even eat off the menu which was great too. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Luang Prabang, it’s a little out of the main area, however they do have regular shuttles to town and even make do of the free bicycles they have which is easy to get around.
GGuest UserCheck In Date : 26th August 2022. Check Out Date : 28th August 2022. Room : 07. Location : The villa is located right in the heart of the historic old town Luang Prabang. It is basically located at the very centre of LP peninsula. It is not facing the main road (which is good) but it is located just 45 secs walk from the main road. Just next to the villa, there is a very simple and compact grocery store. within 5 mins, there are cafes, souvenir shops, pharmacy and also very near to the 2 rivers that made up the LP peninsula. Going down the hill, there is the mighty river Mekong, which is very beautiful during sunset. Going uphill which is not steep, there is Nam Khan River. Within 10-15 mins walks, I can reach the Royal Palace, Phousi Hill, Night Market and the morning market. The location is SUPER PERFECT. Reception and Service : We arrived at the city around 9.20am. 26th August 2022 which is a blessing. We didnt know that there is Boat Racing Festival, the city is basically dead congested. The tuktuk driver dopped us at Dara Market and we had to walk all the way to the hotel (3km) with 7kg rucksack on our back. We reached the hotel around 10am. To our surprise, we were told that our room is ready and voila, the reception guy let us go in the room 4 hours early with ZERO charge. The recep made a lot of suggestion and had plenty of topics to talk to us. He suggested us to visit the Boat Racing Festival because it is the last day. So we followed his advice and we got to celebrate it like a local. The festival itself is amazing. The recep always helpful to us and always smile. We feel really welcome. We always get a massive greet whenever we come back to the villa. Room : I remember specifically that I book a deluxe room but we got a triple room. That free upgrade came with ZERO costs to our wallet. The room is spacious. The AC is cold. The fridge is working well. The bathroom is massive, and hot water working perfectly. The mattress is soft and despite the wooden exterior, I felt quiet whenever we enter the room. However, there is no elevator provided. Disable people might have to contact the villa if you want to book so you can request for lower room specifically. And since LP is such a charming little town, most of the hotels in the city are also 2 stories with no elevator for sure. I love the room and the cleanliness. Facility : As per said, there are no elevator and the upper room isnt accessible to people with disability. There is a small front yard where tourists can park motorcycle. Breakfast : People choose breakfast from the menu provided. We only get to try the breakfast once because the second day, we went to Tad Sae around 7am. The noodle soup is delicious and we love the fruit plate. The eating area is small, good for chatting with other travelers. But it is simply kept clean at all time. Sleep Quality : 9.9/10. We had a good first day walking around town, immersing with the locals at the Boat Racing Festivals. We slept like a
GGuest UserVery restful, relaxing hotel in a good position for exploring the nearby night market. Easy to organise transport locally but the hotel gave us a free ride to the night market when I wanted to go. ( I have difficulty walking too far) Our room was peaceful, spacious and clean. The pool area is good and offers bean bags or chairs to sit in. The spa is readily available. The breakfast is served in an outdoor, covered long room and the dining area is always busy with a good choice of dishes. The unusual aspect of this residence is the number of lotus ponds and abundance of greenery everywhere which are a UNESCO listed feature. I wouldn’t necessarily choose this hotel for young children but for older children or couples it would be hard to beat for character and history.
GGuest UserThe hotel was clean, employees were very helpful and kind. They had refreshments already in our rooms which was very convenient and the best part was they can check in our bags, weight, and get the luggage tag being they had connections we Lao Airlines. That was definitely a plus. We didn’t have to rush to try to get in our bag at all and they take you back to the airport and make sure we knew where we needed to go. I would definitely try this hotel to anyone.
GGuest User#positive #I was happy with the Nearby Restaurants, Natural Light in the Room, Room Layout, Corridor Soundproofing, Convenience of Transport; Madam boss, today is the morning of February 4th. I am the Chinese guy who asked you to buy a ticket to Vangrong for me. I was in a hurry and forgot to give the key to your room. Please don't blame him when you see the message. Thank you for your reception and help. The boss lady of this shop can speak Chinese and can solve many daily tools and scenic spots. Train ticket handover.
GGuest UserOverall, it is very good. The environment is in place. The greening is very good. The air is fresh. Everything is very clean. The room has no peculiar smell and is very clean. The service is also very considerate and the price is affordable. Recommended
CCannalingzhiVery cost-effective, very unique all-wood hotel. There are many termites outside after the rain, and there will be small geckos in the room. There will be monks passing by the door after 5:30 in the morning to give alms. It is a short walk to the Foreigner Street. The location is excellent, and there is a pizza shop next door, which is also very unique. The price is more than 100 yuan per night. The bathroom facilities are a bit old, but the room hygiene is still OK. Slippers are required at the entrance of the hotel, and you are barefoot without slippers when entering the small building, which is very similar to northern Thailand.
The hotel breakfast is to walk to the Mekong River behind, which is very simple, just sliced bread, croissants, sausages and fried eggs. There are only instant coffee and tea bags. You can ask for American coffee and it will be brewed for you separately.
FF7686GNsallybDue to an unexpected situation, we were kindly moved from our original hotel to Villa Deux Rivieres where the management provided us with excellent, spacious accommodation overlooking the Nam Khan river. We were later moved to a different room which was also very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The location was excellent as we were easily able to walk to the main shopping areas, temples and restaurants in this beautiful city. The villa is well set up for breakfast, and we enjoyed ours on the verandah overlooking the river. Although not all reception staff are fluent in English, they went out of their way to help us, especially with booking transport. We traveled to Laos in early December which was sunny and dry during the day but quite cold at night. If travelling at this time of year, consider packing a jumper and warm sleepwear. The villa organised to have laundry done for us - cheap and of a high standard.
GGuest UserEnvironment: rice fields, cicadas chirping, but no mosquitoes beside the paddy fields. Waking up early to bask in the warmth of the swimming pool with a hint of coolness in the morning, looking at the green rice fields, the mist-shrouded mountains in the distance, the clear blue sky and white clouds, I felt that there was a vivid memory on my life list.
Room: The air conditioning is sufficient and there is no noise. There is also a fragrance system, and the high roof space makes people relax. The equipment is well-equipped and very new. I fell asleep on the first night without much fuss as I was in an area where bed trouble was most common when I was on a business trip.
Service and breakfast: Very welcoming. There was a problem with the hot water on the first night. I called the front desk and sent someone to fix it immediately. There is a free shuttle to town. The breakfast is rich, especially the local millet noodles.
Overall review: :) I don’t want to give a good review, because I’m afraid you might raise the price next time if you know more.
