As far as I am concerned; nice location, and that is about it, Manger pretty ineffectual. Sunday lunch was good. it was a noisy room and was not serviced properly. Housekeepers room was next to mine and the door was banging. The manager said he would get them to stop banging the door and did not. The breakfast was lousy.

The Old Manor Hotel is Absolutely Wonderful. Reception Staff very nice and attentive to us all and especially housekeeping my room was spotless. Food was really good and nice staff. Hotel was clean and very warm welcoming rooms do need a little face lift but everything was perfect. Thanks to reception staff and housekeepers too.

Stayed here for 4 nights bed and breakfast to watch the women’s golf at St Andrews, the room was clean, very comfortable with amazing views. Bathroom looked as though it has been recently revamped which was very good quality. Breakfast was excellent with good choices and ordering at the table which we prefer. All the team were attentive and friendly. Would definitely return.

Visited for lunch today. The restaurant was empty when we ordered our meal. We were given our pot of tea 20 minutes before the food was served. Quality of the food and presentation was poor. Expensive for what we recieved. Toilets very dated as was the restaurant. This was our first visit . Will definitely not visit again.

We had lunch here earlier in the year which was great. We decided to visit the restaurant around 6.30 tonight. Kitchen staff were smoking nearby the car park. Didn't seem professional. However as we entered reception and asked if we could have a meal we were told they "weren't doing walk ins." When we asked if this was normal practice we were told " it just depends and anyway we're full. " Receptionist was dismissive and borderline impolite. Won't be back. We went to the Crusoe Hotel instead.

We called the hotel to ask availability and make a booking, and were told there was a seaview room with a balcony let. We went to their online booking system and carried out the booking. When we arrived, we were given a room with no balcony, and were told there was a wedding on that weekend and the room with the balcony had been taken. Later on, we discovered that the room was right above the wedding reception. The music was so loud we had to close the windows, but the noise it still reverberated through the floor. We called the reception and were told the noise would go on until midnight. When we argued that we were not made aware that there would be a wedding right under our feet during the booking, so we could have made an informed decision as to where we would try to find another place, we were treated dismissively. We were told that the hotel supposed we were members of the wedding party (that we did not know anything about), and, surprisingly, that a solution would be for us to just sleep after midnight. They offered us £30 refund, which really made no difference, as it was one of the worst nights we ever had in a hotel meant to be a luxury hotel: the unbearable noise, the heat and stuffiness of the room, the uncomfortable beds, and, after the wedding music stopped (at 12.10 am), we were awaken by a very loud plumbing noise on the wall right behind the bed every 15 minutes or so. We were told that weddings happen every weekend, so if you are planning to stay there (being part or not of the wedding) and have a good night of sleep, you may want to reconsider. To be honest, just the grease around the bath tub would already have put people off - it says much about the standards of the hotel. The worse, really, is the absolute lack of care we were shown by the duty manager; as she said herself, her priority was the wedding.

We eat at the old manor Hotel The food was superb. The staff Ross and Jennifer were just so helpful. I'll be back at the restaurant. The view was superb. I can highly recommend for a family meal. We had steak pie, fish and chicken and haggis. All were excellent.

The setting overlooking the Fife Coast and across the Firth to North Berwick is wonderful . Sadly the hotel is very poor . It is tired and downmarket . Beds uncomfortable and poor quality bedding . Breakfast , undrinkable orange juice and the cheapest ingredients in the Scottish Breakfast . One staff member eating breakfast in reception. It is such a shame that standards are so poor .
