Beautiful hotel which is well located and has view of the river. Staff write friendly and service was wonderful. Our only comll on ain’t was there was no air conditioning and it was difficult to sleep

The service attitude is very good, it is clean, hygienic and quiet. There are not many breakfast options, and no toiletries are provided. The curtains in the single bed room are outside the window, and you have to rotate the pull rod on the right to put them down. Overall, I am satisfied.

The hotel is by the river. The room is not big but it is enough. Most hotel rooms in Lucerne are not big anyway. Breakfast tastes pretty good and includes hot food.

Added 23 euros at the counter to upgrade to a room with a balcony facing the river.
Bed: The bedding is clean and hygienic, and the white quilt cover has a bumpy feel. It looks very pleasant to cover and is very comfortable. The mattress is firm and supportive, which is our favorite type;
Bathroom: relatively large, with wet and dry separation in the shower, and the toilet is clean;
Balcony: Go back to the room at night and sit on the balcony for a while, very comfortable and relaxing;
Front desk: The service staff is friendly and able to coordinate according to some of our requirements;
Overall very satisfied!

Very good located hotel. Warm welcome from Adrien. Very helpful, good local knowledge. Room had a high floor with balcony and river view. Very clean, but dated. Walls extremely thin, as when going to bed 10.30pm and laughing, next door banged on wall? Nice breakfast, mostly continental, but very well presented. All staff were very friendly. Had a lovely stay.

Great location off the edge of the downtown. Basic rooms but very clean and fairly spacious. Nice view of the river with a balcony as well. The breakfast was good, albeit busy and crowded at times. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Adrian recommended some nice restaurants and sites to see. They gave us a late checkout to 12:30. It was very hot in Lucerne when we were there so they gave us 2 fans for our room (along with the ceiling fan already there). It is not the cheapest place to stay, but it was peak summertime and worth the bit extra.

The best thing about this hotel Is the lovely reception staff - so helpful, so friendly. The rooms are basic but have everything needed. The beds are super comfortable and have ceiling fans - it was hot when we were there. The breakfast was delicious! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Loved the rooms. High ceilings, modern and clean. Breakfast and location was great. Shout out to the hotel receptionist who saved our trip! We accidentally left our passports in the safe and realized this while on a train to Interlaken. We phoned the hotel and he was able to mail our passports to our next hotel and then phoned the hotel to inform them of the situation so that when we checked in they knew that our passports wouldn’t arrive for 1-2 days. Amazing service - can’t say enough positive words to show our gratitude!

We stayed in Hotel Karl for 3 nights in late May. The accommodation was great. Big, comfy bed. Decent fan to cool the room. Lovely shower, loads of storage, and other general amenities in the room (nespresso, safe, SMART TV). The hotel was located just a five minute walk from the centre of the old town, but was separated enough from the hustle and bustle so that it was very quiet. The reception staff throughout were friendly and helpful; offering us advice on excursions and restaurants. My only detraction would be the breakfast. The selection was okay, but what was frustrating was how busy the breakfast area was - you constantly felt jostled as you were selecting your items or standing in a queue for the coffee machine. A simple way to resolve this would be to insist on timed slots at breakfast (we have stayed in a couple of hotels on our trip which do this and it significantly improves the breakfast experience). All in all, though, a very good hotel in an ideal location.
