Firstly exceptional staff . Super friendly & go far & beyond .Initially I would have assumed good value for money however , having now stayed I realise that it is not really the case . The room was clean but but tbh shabby , peeling paintwork , low energy lightbulbs & the tiles on the shower were less than clean. Also there are very limited accessible plug sockets , really hard to just charge your phone or similar . As someone mentioned previously you haveto ask to have coffee , milk even loo roll replenished . Considering as well that there is no bar facility it is not far short of staying in a boarding house . All that said great location but dont bank on parking , this review makes me sound very picky but am being honest . in hindsight probably could have paid less money for a B & B . To reiterate the staff are fantastic .

This used to be a lovely hotel but I believe it’s just been sold and standards have sadly dropped no alcohol to be sold on the premises lack of restaurant and the cleaning in the bedroom/bathroom has to be seen to be believed I would like to come back but not until standards have improved.

Local to lynton and needed urgent accommodation for family member . Rachel the manager and her excellent team could not be faulted. Was so anxious , from minute I walked in I knew that they understood the situation, and will always be so grateful to Rachel and staff for coming to the rescue. Lovely lady, lovely staff, lovely hotel, lovely meals. Thoroughly recommend , especially if you want to be surrounded by people who genuinely care.

Booked two nights for a disabled family member so they could attend a small birthday party in Lynton. we booked Well in advance because this hotel has a lift the disabled member can only walk a short distance and has particular problems with stairs. I received notification today 21/10 that this booking had been cancelled and a replacement room 19 miles away had been reserved instead. Confirmation number 2601.119.591

I loved the Victorian grandeur of this hotel, especially the lounge with its balconies and decorative pillars like something out of the Titanic. The breakfast was unexpectedly excellent - it is advertised as continental but you get a very good selection of both hot and cold food. I loved taking my time in the breakfast room, chatting to the staff and guests over views of the beautiful coastline. I used this hotel as a walking base and found it comfortable and always very warm which was great. This hotel really captured my imagination of what the town was like in its heyday and the decor might have been even more period. The entertainment wasn't for me personally, but it was great that the hotel put on quizzes and evening entertainment for its guests. Loved my stay here and would definitely come again.

This was our tenth year of staying at this hotel so you may be sure that we enjoy it. The location is unparalleled with stunning views over the Severn Estuary towards the Welsh Coast from our room 56. Staff are amazing - more friendly and helpful you could not ask for. Our experience was unusual to this extent - because there were few guests booked on a half-board basis we would have been the only diners on a few nights. Rachel offered to refund the dinner charge and arranged for us to eat at the Crown Hotel a few minutes' walk away which was perfectly acceptable. On some mornings the lack of guests meant that breakfasts were served to table instead of the customary buffet. Again perfectly acceptable and the foods was good. As with previous years our booking coincided with the Lyn Valley Classic car meet and we certainly recommend staying in Lynton for this great event.

Hotel is set in a stunning place. Hotel needs update as she is tired. But that said, it was clean and interesting. Sea views we stunning. Staff fabulous. Breakfast very good. Sadly the restaurant was not open and thank goodness we were advised by staff to book into somewhere too eat as everywhere gets booked. Around the area are many wonderful eating places but make SURE you pre book. Take comfy shoes as nice area to walk around. Our room was OK size with good quality bedding and towels. Have sympathy for her age which she is showing, but in a way it adds to the character. Enjoyed our stay in this stunning part of the country.

Odd parking situation on arrival. We had requested a parking space but there had been a mix up so we didn’t get one. We did park on the road outside so no hassle. Turns out they would have charged us £6 for parking so I’m glad we found a free spot on the road. Some real character elements of the hotel that added value but in need of TLC. But don’t let that put you off. The views are outstanding. We were top floor on the side and had a window looking down the valley and over the sea. Absolutely beautiful! Breakfast was decent. Great spot in the centre of Lynton. Would return for the view alone!
