Great location, in the heart of Lyon city center.
Very clean room.
Plenty of good restaurants just down the street and all around - and luckily its not not noisy at all in the room.
The night shift receptionnist is friendly and nice.
For a 4-star hotel, it would great if bottled water could be provided in the room although water refiller is available at the reception.
But well, the fact is that 4-star hotels standard in Europe is definitely lower than Asia’s 4-star hotels.

Hotel location is very good and service is good. It is that the concierge is not at the point, and there are often front desk and driver agents. However, the staff is very friendly and enthusiastic. I have to explain patiently, and many problems can be solved. I sincerely thank the young lady and master at the front desk, thank you very much.

A proximité de Perrache (le pont à traverser ou un arrêt de tram), desservi par les tram A et B. Accueil et personnel sympathique. Les chambres sont fonctionnelles. Rien d'extraordinaire mais ça fait le job. Porte d'entrée et chambre accessible avec un digicode. Petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet servi dans un salle du rez de chaussée. Là encore, simple et fonctionnel.

Petit hôtel très sympathique, sans prétention, mais très honnete, bien pensé, bien décoré et aux espaces efficacement optimisés et d’excellent rapport qualité/prix avec un petit dej avec des viennoiseries de qualité, ainsi que du bon pain frais, même si une offre un peu plus étendu en salé serait appréciable. Le personnel est extrêmement sympathique et arrangeant . Les « tintins et Astérix » gracieusement prêtés par l’établissement achèveront de vous endormir en douceur.

Hotel Charlemagne is a great hotel. The location was in an esplanade district directly in the route of all public transport. We took a tram to the train station, and the bus to the tourist sites- direct route. There is plenty to eat in the area, with a mall about a 10 min walk. Across the street is a self service all included laundry, very helpful for long trips. Some restaurants in the area close outside the peak hours- mostly 3-6. The staff was very friendly and the bar tender made a great mojito.

The room is small. The location is slightly off the city center and the subway is convenient. There are no shops or restaurants around. Catch up with the annual lighting festival, the downtown area is lively and there are enough people.

This is an amazing hotel with impressive architecture and huge grounds which allow a stunning view over the surrounding area. Staff were welcoming and the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was served in the large dining room and offered a wide selection of continental breakfast items. My only concern was that the outdoor tables were under my bedroom window and those who were drinking late into the evening could disturb someone who was not someone who went to bed late. With all the grounds, it might be possible to relocate this seating area. But this is only a small point.

Good rooms, friendly service. Ok bar. Decent breakfast. Drinks are expensive. A premium just for the location. Location is a 45 min ride from main train station. One change. You can buy a 24hr ticket for 3.60 EUR Strikes me as less useful if you want to visit the city and be close to things.

GGuest UserThis is a fun property. It's an old building that was a hospital before it was converted. The building is spectacular. It was also very clean. The rooms are quite large - by any standard and especially French standards. The space was also very well utilized. The bathroom was similarly large and well laid out. The location is excellent - near the rivers and lots of tourist areas. It's an expensive area but that's not unexpected. The wifi was good and the A/C worked well. The airport is outside the city so it costs about 50-60€ each way. The property was very quiet. They did a nice job insulating the windows to block traffic noise. Bottom line, I would absolutely return.

GGuest UserThis was the second time I had stayed at the Grand Hotel des Terreaux. The hotel is in a central location in Lyon, and I like the style. The service was excellent, they speak English, and I loved the breakfast buffet. The room I stayed in was very nice but on the smaller side, typical for hotel rooms in France. The bed was very comfortable for me, and the room had air conditioning which is great as it can get quite warm in France. Wireless access was included, and fast and reliable. Overall an excellent hotel I can highly recommend.

However, the health is general, there is dust on the bed table, I hope to pay attention. GGuest UserThis hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. Before I get into specifics, the staff was great, very friendly and nice. I don't blame them for the state of the rooms. The first room we had was right on the street, first floor. It seemed ok at first, but it was so noisy and we were staying for 6 nights, I asked to change and they ended up finding a room later that day we could move to. The first room was ok, it seemed run down. The bedding and bed seemed new and the a/c worked, so I thought is was workable. After the noise and I moved to the next room, I had another awful room. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling where there was a water leak. The full length mirror was cracked and I was worried I would hit it by accident and cause it to fall. There were just minor issues like wallpaper peeling and paint touch ups needed. I know this company recently bought this hotel, but they should not be open until the rooms were renovated. The rooms needed a total gutting and redoing. This is not at all the quality I was expecting when I booked. Also, we were told we needed the key to swipe to access the building, but that wasn't true. Anyone could enter at any time. I never felt safe there. The second room we had was way in the back, so I felt safer there, but I was very happy to leave when it was time to check out. So if you are staying here soon, I would advise to check and see if the rooms have been renovated before you book.

MMeloukClose to the subway and tram, a good restaurant, a few meters away, with a variety of food, every lunchtime there is a dining car, comfortable and quiet bedding, on the other hand, apart from the office, there are few simple tableware There is a small kitchen, no dining table; for breakfast, the box provided is not up to standard: 3 mini pastries, a bottle of juice, a part of bread and a bag of coffee! The value of money does not exist.
But what shocked me the most was that they refused customers to use the toilet before checking in. Do you obviously always have to go back to the room because of Covid? For the customer, this does not seem to be very suitable for me.

GGuest UserWe stayed at a double room in the Sofitel in Lyon for a total of 3 nights in the summer of 2023.
The hotel is located just a few streets from the Place Bellecour which is one of the main squares in Lyon. It is also about 5 minutes away from many cafes, bistros and a large supermarket (Monop’) near Place Bellecour.
The room itself was a fairly standard double room (approximately 20 square metres). The interior and furnishings of the hotel look a bit dated but they were fine and did not matter in any material way. The minibar is complimentary and it is restocked daily with bottled water (still and sparkling), fruit juice, coca cola, and dried fruits and nuts.
The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were firm. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning was not very consistent and it would turn off in the middle of the night. It is not an issue if you are staying here in the winter but it made it difficult to sleep at night in the summer.
The staff were all very nice and pleasant. The concierge was especially friendly and he helped us to store our bags and arrange for a taxi to the train station on our last day.
We paid approximately EUR250 a night and we thought it was worth the price.

GGuest UserBonjour, Groupe d'amies ayant réservé 2 chambres pour 4 personnes pour un super rapport qualité/prix, je vous conseille de réserver directement, les prix sont plus avantageux. Réceptionnistes très symphatiques. Les parties communes sont un peu vieillottes, en revanche, les chambres rénovées sont très bien, les lits et canapés lit confortables. Si nous devions revenir à Lyon, nous réserverions de nouveau sans hésiter.

蒋蒋A family of three, the executive three-person room booked two days in advance, the standard room plus a sofa bed at the time of check-in, the most important thing is that there is no quilt and pillow on the sofa bed! And all the toiletries are for two people. After negotiating with the front desk, I said that I am embarrassed to clean up the mistakes. Then I found a circle and said that I was too embarrassed to be quilted. I can only use the spare blanket in the cabinet! We asked for two sheets to look for. The attitude of the younger brother is good, but it is helpless, and we are speechless. In addition, the room had a pungent taste of decoration (or the smell of carpet cleaner) and opened a night window. Experience the worst hotel on this trip!

KKANThe best thing is to have free parking spaces, which are really rare in the city, but the parking spaces are first come first served. If you arrive in the evening, it is basically impossible, and it is recommended to stop the car and don't drive. It is not convenient to drive in the city.
The room is small and the design is not very reasonable. The 7-day standard is still equipped with a sink in the corridor. It is better to use the space in the area near the bed.
The service is reduced because there is always no one at the front desk. I want to check out twice and can't find anyone. I really don't want to take the time to put the key at the front desk.
The location is convenient, next to the literary and art neighborhood, in fact, the feeling of the cement forest, in a building and patio that is abandoned and actually lives, there are many graffiti, standing in the parking lot can see the river opposite.

Stayed for 2 nights (2 adults & 1 kid) Positives: Clean hotel - To be expected from any Ibis Budget Helpful staff - To be expected from any Ibis Budget Basic amenities - microwave at reception / cold drinking water (may not be complementary but staff let us refill our bottles) Ample car parking - We didn't use since we were not driving McDonalds next door - Helpful only if you are a McD person which I am not!!! Negatives: Rooms are not air conditioned - not sure if that is the case with all Ibis budget hotels but it could get uncomfortable in June nights Location is kind of secluded - can be slightly scary to go out after dark (especially with family) Not too many restaurants (except McD ofcourse), bars, supermarkets nearby Metro station is a good 800-900 mt away so can get tedious if you plan to walk to metro station multiple times a day
